I took my teenage son to see it and it was awesome all the way around. Heath Ledger was great and so was Christian, I loved it and would recommend it to anyone. If you aren't a Batman fan when you walk in you will definately be one when you leave.

Christian Bale is the best Batman and Bruce Wayne. Ledger was superb in his role as the Joker. One of those movies that you can't leave to get a re-fill.

Heath Ledger's performance was captivating. Heath Ledger is deserving of all the praise he's been getting. He redefined the role of the Joker and breathed new life into it. His Joker performance eclipses Nicholsan's Joker. Whenever he was on screen you couldn't take your eyes off of him. The movie never misses a beat and grabs a hold of you and never lets go. I've seen it twice and can't wait to see it again!

This will not be wordy. The Dark Knight was one of the best films I have seen in a long time. It was supremely dark, smart, intimidating and just one of those movies that one cant wait to see. It will not disappoint. Ledger was phenomenal - his dynamic range speeds your pulse. The entire cast was superb. I will own this movie and watch it daily. That last part was a joke.

Dark Knight is the best batman movie ever. Just when you think they would never make another Batman..they did. Just When you think they couldn't make one better than any of the previous Batmans..they did. The characters, the plot, the special effects, stunts. This IS the best Batman.

I agree that Heath Ledger's performance was certainly Oscar-worthy and perhaps the most compelling reason to see this movie. Christian Bale is mechanical and uninspired, the supporting cast mere window dressing but Heath Ledger MADE the movie. Were it not for his performance, and the incredible special effects, I probably wouldn't even rent the DVD.

It was a great movie, but I have to say predictable. After seeing how the Joker was, I had guessed all the opposite things he was going to do before they showed it. Other than that, it was full of action and yes Heath Ledger did a great job.

The very thin storyline (was there one?) was choppily edited which didn't help the fine actors flesh out completely underdeveloped characters. The writers apparently do not understand subtext since they spoon-fed us backstories which were also undefined. A weak plot was plugged with unnecessary violence and action. Overall, a very disappointing movie which is not worth the hype.

Saw this movie last night with my daughter and boyfriend. Not an avid Batman movie goer, but this one knocked it out of the park! Heath Ledger was remarkable - unlike any performance I could have imagined him doing. What a final performance! The movie was long, but no time wasted in this film. Great special effects and story line. Of course leaving it open to another Batman film. I'd even watch this again!!

So we have all been waiting for this Batman to hit the theatre...and it was well worth the wait!
I would've given it 5 stars however the hype and promotions were a little much. I think due to the tragedy of Ledger--they had to start the promos earlier than expected. Other than that, yes go see this movie while it is in the theatres. Don't wait for DVD, it won't have as much impact. Overall, great flick, great action, great suspense, without going overboard!!

Great movie...I don't watch many comic book adaptations, but it didn't seem like one at all- it was so real. and Heath Ledger was excellent. He had me genuniely creeped out by his Joker character. It's unfortunate he didn't get to see the fruits of his labor. Hopefully he's laughing somehwere :) Awesome movie!!!!

The story and the great amount of detail that is usually not even put into a movie like this can be found in between the great many action/death scene's in this one. Be care full not to be distracted by answering your text because you might miss the important factors that help strengthen "The Dark Knights" plot. It definitely keeps you wanting for a third.....Heath, Thanks For The Ride Man!! RIP!

There are a few contrivances, they play fast and loose with the "no guns" rule (you won't use handguns, you're specifically disdainful of people who use handguns in your name, but slapping a couple turrets on the front of your bike is okay?), and I still find Christian Bale's rasp vaguely ridiculous.
Even so, this managed, despite being set mostly in daylight, to be even darker than Nolan's first outing in the franchise and I'll admit it, I got swept up in the crowd-pleasing moments right along with the rest of the audience. And, note to the Iron Man crew, the film demonstrates that there are in fact ways to depict a ladies' man without setting the women's movement back fifty years (even if, although probably because, it's just an act). Everything you've heard about the performances is correct, so I won't repeat those accolades here. I'll probably see it again, if only because I missed Keith Szarabajka (whom I'd heard had a part) and Anthony Michael Hall (whom I hadn't) on this viewing.

A well done tale, good choice of actors for the parts. The movie asked the question, "Does the ends justify the means?" and I believe the movie's answer is , "No!" Concerning the performance of Heath Ledger, this guy nailed the part! No one will ever be able to take his place as the Joker. Christian Bale could barely keep up with him. They might even have called the movie, The Joker, because Batman seemed more like the supporting actor vice the lead. The character got into my head and made my brain hurt. Bravo to all the cast, crew and all that made this movie.

I just saw the Dark Night for the second time last night, and I don't think I've ever heard the phrases "I'm going to see it again tonight" or "I've already seen it 3 times" so many times in one week. This movie is simply amazing. I expected it to be awesome, but, as many have already said, it surpassed all my expectations. I was so blown away by all the actors performances, and it is an extremely well made movie.
I am the kind of person who only pays 50 cents to go see movies at the dollar theater, but I would absolutely say this is worth paying full price. Twice. Or thrice.

One couldn't miss the hype for the Dark Knight--it's been everywhere.
BUT not one bit of it is a lie. Heath Ledger really does give a remarkable new depth to the Joker--you cannnot help but feel the total lack of morality down into your bones. He is one bad clown.
Christian Bale is a cool, multi-layered Bruce Wayne--you can see the battle of good and bad going on internally in every scene.
Aaron Eckhart---so swarmy, so handsome, so deficient.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is a sexy, complete Rachel.
It'll keep you on the edge of your seat!!

I was amazed at the performances of everyone in the movie, but especially Heath Ledger. Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart were great too. This is not my type of movie, but I went with my son and we both loved it. With all the media about the Batman movie and then with Heath's passing, I was surprised that the movie was way beyond all the hype.
One thing though, this is not intended for small children. It is PG-13 for a reason, and is not for 4 and 5 year olds.

The Dark Knight sets a new standard for comic book movies. Filled with the grit of Sin City, special effects on par with Iron Man, and acting surpassing all past efforts, the Dark Knight may be too grim for some, but for fans of the violent and dangerous Batman of the late 70s, 80s and 90s, the Dark Knight satisfies and even surpasses its source material. Heath Ledger gives an iconic performance as the definitive Joker, causing chaos and spreading dark humor throughout Gotham. Bale again proves himself as the best Batman. The supporting cast is fantastic, with Gary Oldman becoming even more of a standout as the idealistic Jim Gordon, Morgan Freeman bringing his unique sense of charm and humor to Lucius Fox, Maggie Gyllenhaal gives a great and complex performance as Rachel Dawes, and Michael Caine steals every scene he's in as Alfred. As for Aaron Eckhart... well, you too will Believe in Harvey Dent. This was indeed a good movie. I realized as I was sitting in the theater that a lot of the teenagers who were really getting in to it didn't remember or see the 1989 version with Nicholson as the Joker (made me feel kinda old)! The only thing that bothers me is are there any new ideas? Basically he has a batmobile, a bat cycle probably next time a bat jet or boat or some other contraption. He will fight the joker the joker will attack the city blah blah blah. How many times are we going to tell the same story? How about a new concept? HellBoy....now that's interesting. Or maybe finally make a Wonder Woman movie.
