I've seen every Batman movie, tv series, cartoon incarnation ever-made... and this was the best. Chris Nolan continues to build the Batman as a multi-faceted personailty. Christian Baile as playboy B.W. is dashing. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman always elevate a cast. And the Joker, embodied by Heath Ledger, well, just see the movie.

Christopher Nolan's latest work in the new set of Batman scores a big win! The characters and their stories are complex. We get to really see the inner struggle Bruce faces every time he dons that cowl and cape. He's forced to make tough decisions throughout the entire movie. Christian Bale's portrayal also earns him the rank to be up with Kevin Conroy (of Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League) and my personal favorite, Michael Keaton from Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was stellar. He definitely ranks up there with the Joker's other portrayers included Jack Nicholson from Batman (1989) and Mark Hamill from Batman: The Animated Series. The only major cast change from Begins is the part of Rachel Dawes originally played by Katie Holmes now played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Harvey Dent/Two-Face is great. He really adds depth to the character by showing him at his greatest as Gotham's DA and then at his worst as he's broken down to his worst. Go see this movie! You'll love it!

From the storyline by the Nolans to the maniacal performance from Ledger and everything in-between, "The Dark Knight" was everything moviegoers had rightfully anticipated-- an amazing film and the definite front-runner of this summer's selections. Though with expectations so high there is great difficulty in the film exceeding them, "Dark Knight" certainly won't fail to meet those expectations head-on at the very least.
Perhaps the best aspect of the Nolan screenplay is that the film transcends the comic genre entirely. Sure, the chase scenes are amazing and the new toys and schemes of Batman are still on par with what comic fans would expect, but the realness of the story makes the viewer feel like the two comic book icons could be replaced with everyday, run-of-the-mill characters and the film would still be a terrific crime saga. The fact that Batman and the Joker face off in a film of such quality sets a new standard for the comic genre and I can only more eagerly anticipate the next film in this ongoing series.

While I am a fan of all of the Batman films, Christopher Nolan's takes are by far my favorite. Sequels sometimes have the tendency to head downhill, but The Dark Knight proves that sequels can even be better than the first. This film was not afraid to push past their limits. All of the performances were great, especially that of the late Heath Ledger...truly incredible, dark, and haunting. That smile still haunts me in my dreams. Seeing this film in IMAX is also a great experience.

Dark Knight was an AMAZING movie! The characters were well developed and the story was filled with parallels to the realities of the struggle of humanity and the need for someone to save us. It was so exciting to see a superhero movie so well made!

Once again Nolan has delivered the Dark Knight as intended by the authors' of the finer graphic novels. Ledger nails the Joker, making Nicholson's attempt at the role seem comical. Finally the Dark Knight Detective is pitted against a worthy adversary and the ensuing battle for Gotham's soul is captivating on a number of levels. This is a must see film. The only downside being that it feels a little long, and while Bale is perfectly cast, his tough guy Batman voice is a bit much after 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Great movie from start to finish. Standout peformances from Heath Ledger and Gary Oldman. Best peformance Heath Ledger has given in all his films, he puts Jack Nicholson's peformance to shame. Best Joker ever. Great movie.

From the first minute, the Dark Knight has you hooked. It delivered on so many levels, Bale is by far the best Batman. Ledger's performance was amazing, I've never seen someone get into character as much as he has for the role as the joker. I would recommend this to anyone, not just Batman fans, even if you know nothing about the story of Batman, this movie can still deliver.

The Dark Knight was highly anticipated, and for a reason. I could not wait to see this movie. Even the previews got me excited. Dark Knight was perfectly executed, and I left the movie theater feeling like if I died, life would be perfect. Christian Bale yet again delivers a phenomenal performance, as does the rest of the cast. Heath Ledger... now let me talk about him. Yes, he died, but he will live on in my mind and in many others as quite possibly the best superhero villain put into movie form. Ledger was psychotic, dark, twisted, and funny... everything needed to nail his character. My only complaint about this movie is the fact that Katie Holmes was /not/ used as Rachel Dawes. The new girl was not as hot and rather pudgy to me, and I think that took away from the consistency of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. But with that aside, my money was well spent!

This franchise of the series has been very promising, and this volume definatley takes it to the max. Supurb acting, great underlying themes, the best stunt work in movies these days. Despite the hype from his death, Ledger truly gives a one off performance that will be remembered for many years. Can't wait for the next one.....please let ther be a next one!

Dark Knight was an awesome movie! Im not saying this out of sympathy either towards the late Heath Ledger but he was incredible. The whole movie I completely forgot that it was even him. Aaron Eckhart made a great Harvey Dent with his smooth way of talking and intense passion. Honestly, in my opinion Christian Bale is the best batman of them all. George Clooney, Val Kilmer, and Michael Keaton don't got anything on Christian. The story line is perfect and it always has you enthrolled in whats taking place. Also, the special effects are un-freakin-believable! Stuff is blowing up all the time, glass is shattering it's intense stuff. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes the batman movies and anyone who wants to be amazed for 2 and 1/2 hours.

I took 10 friends to go and see it and I will be taking the rest of them this week to se this movie! It was amazing. Very suspenceful, it even made me jump in a few spots. Ledger was perfection. He's leaving behind a great legacy. He definitly went out on top.
