I have to admit, I was very pleasantly surprised. As a lover of the original series and an avoider of everthing on TV that followed it, this movie was great and totally on track with the original. On track down to the basic personalities of the key crew members. The script is excellent and should result in an academy nomination. The best graphics I've seen in any movie. Some minor disappointments around such concepts as time travel but that's just how it hits me. Overall, well worth seeing as an adventure film.

This movie was fabulous in the tradition of Star Trek, and the real twist was inline with the core of the show. A great new spin on a fan favorite. Awesome Graphics, Great Story, perfect tempo both comedic and adventurous!!! This movie was better than I had expected or even hoped it could be.
A definate 5 out of 5 stars.

Has to be the best Star trek since Kahn. Great story. They actually put thought into it. Great way to start the series all over again. in comparison to X-men which had an awful script and butchered the story line.
Even if you are no a star trek fan I'd say go see it. Very well put together

I've been watching Star Trek very when it was on NBC with the orignal cast. Three quarters of the movie was good. The actors who played Bones, Scotty & Chevoff got it dead on while the main characters are still developing their characters so it is hard to tell yet. The ending was weak, or dull, I don't know which. Predictable, is the best way to put it.. I would still recommend it because it was fun.

Not only did they get it right, they took it to a new level. The actors are in true form and the level of detail that the showed. I think this will set a new standard for Capt. Kirk and crew.
Let the nay sayers whine. It was beyond what I expected.
Gene Roddenberry would be proud.

Great creative script, with Bones and Spock right on the mark. Leonard Nimoy's guest role is just what the doctor ordered for all of us old time Trekkie fans as well. Storyline is great with familiar comedic quirks, giving us how things developed and how everyone got together in the beginning is terrific, as well as leaving room for sequels to deal with Clingons and more. Just great fun, plot twists and an eyefull and earfull of action packed adventure.

Star Trek was a refreshing reminder of my youth with the spectacular array of technical marvel that is indicative of my expectation of high-quality post production wizardry. It was beautifully shot, kept my interest, and gave unexpected hints of what might have been or what is to come. Overall, it was worth 2 hours and 6 minutes of my time. Live long and prosper!

My husband and I grew up watching Star Trek and have seen pretty much all of the feature-length films. We thought this new Star Trek movie was excellent -- nary a disappointing moment, and lots of wonderful ones! We took our 13-year-old son, who is now hooked on the Star Trek story, and wants to see more of the movies, and our 11-year-old daughter, who was skeptical at first, but really enjoyed the characters, humor and story. I was also pleased that the film's PG-13 rating was spot on. The brief scene with Kirk and Uhura's roommate and the little bit of smooching in the rest of the movie was very tastefully done, and the use of salty language was appropriate to the script and characters. A great movie for families of tweens and teens!

I love high quality well made movies of all genres. With regard to the Star Trek series, I, like so many others, am most fond of the original 1960's TV series. I enjoyed the movies as they came out, but "Star Trek II, The Wrath of Khan," was the only one that I rated very high.
This new movie has an extremely clever script, and brings all of those old feelings of excitement back to the surface. IMO it is the best of the movies made so far. Because this movie goes to the beginning, we are acutely and greatfully aware that more stories are on the way. Happy viewing. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Well they've done it again. The new Star Trek movie, is one of the best yet. Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, and Zachary Quinto(of "Heroes" fame) were excellent. When I first saw Zachary Quinto on "Heroes", I thought, man, if there is ever a new Star Trek movie, this guy would an excellent choice to play Spock. Apparently,
the casting directors agreed. LOL.The script, is one of the best ever, and the supporting cast were superb. The visual effects, were off the chart!!! I definitely recommend this one!!!

Special effects -Very good.
All the actors were cast Great, Especially Spock.
The only think that didn't fit was the relationship between Spock and Ohura.

The choice of actors is excellent. The beginning and the ending gave me goosebumps. Wow! what an excellent Enterprise. The special effects are outstanding. But not what a fan would expect a Romulan to be. Action packed from start to finish. Two thumbs up!

Just Great! I am so glad the movie industry is finally getting it right concerning their willingness to stick to the original mythology of sci-fi/superhero stories. At least, they are doing a lot better at getting it close in most remakes and sequels.
At the end of this movie, I broke out in spontaneous applause and shouts - a very rare perfomance for me! Bravo!
