This is the best Star Trek movie I have seen and I've seen Star Trek next generations movie was good it comes in second to this one I have also seen those with William shatner and leonard nemoy they were ok at their time but nothing close to this new one. I truly enjoyed all aspects of the film. I loved the selection of actors chosen for the film they were perfect choices especially the guy who plays Spoke I am intrigued by him he was wonderful.It was truly a great film totally unexpected funny moments and great story line and great action.

What a disappointment. Typical Hollywood cutesy feel good junk. Confusing plot, bad writting, bad directing. I feel for the actors who had to memorize these lines and try their best to make it seem real. Although I have to admitt the special effects were great. And yes, if they make another movie I'll shell out the money and go because I'm a Star Trek sap, have been for years.

I have never really watched any of the Star Trek shows or movies, but with the new cast and updated look I thought I might enjoy it. I was not disappointed. I thought the actors were very good, especially Karl Urban as Bones and Zachary Quito as Spock. Definately see in the theater, fun summer movie.

This movie was excellent. The characters stayed true to the original, and the Enterprise looked awesome on the big screen. The movie was faced paced and never had a dull moment. Highly recommended to everyone, Star Trek fan, or not.

Our faimly really enjoyed this movie. Took kids aged 10, 7. Was nervous about the PG13 rating, but it turned out to be very mild physical content -- the same scene is in the preview. All underware stays on, so you don't see any more than you would at the pool. There were a couple brief instances of coarse language, but they are never explicit and they never drop the f-bomb. Think the PG13 rating is undeserved.

All the characters were a good match to the Original series. We are still laughing at some of Scotty's lines. Chris Pine shows that he even studied some of Shatner's mannerisms. JJ Abrams was perhaps the only one who could have pulled this one off.

... it stands very well on its own. If you are a fan of sci-fi films in general, your experience will richer for it.
The characters sound like their original selves without becoming self-parodies. There are fresh takes on genre staples ranging from the ice planet Hoth to the Borg's rout of Starfleet at Wolf 359.
Worth seeing once for the action, and again to find more references to favorite scenes from other works.

I would not call myself a 'Trekkie,' but I've followed Star Trek for years. Being familiar with the characters certainly added to the entertainment value (I had a grin on my face and chuckled often throughout the movie), but it really is not a requirement. Even viewers who are not familiar with the history of the Star Trek franchise will be entertained by this movie.

I think the cast did a fantastic job with their characters especially Urban, his Dr. McCoy stole almost every scene he was in. Great fun, only a few small flubs as far as story line but they're not critical to the success of the movie. I've scene it twice now, my kids once, we all liked it even better than Wolverine, now just waiting for Transformers 2.

This usually called hubris. In this case, it's called Star Trek.
The staff of this movie have totally and completely reborn this franchise. The cast is young; the entire Star Fleet world is new but utterly familiar. There's room here for another 10 sequels.
The action is by and large non-stop. There's stuff in this movie for non-Trekkies and Trekkies alike. My only criticism is the He!!'s Angels Romulans and their squid-like ship.
But that is IT. I *loved* this movie.

Very nice job of creating younger versions of the classic Star Trek cast. The plot, writing and humor are all worthy of the genre. Some reviews have panned the cameo by the original Spock, but I thought it worked well. My only disappointment was the music - it's just not in the same class as the Jerry Goldsmith scores for the other Trek movies. In sum, a very enjoyable experience.

Overall the movie was ecxcellent. It was very good as to how trhe crew came about and the action scenes were tremendous. Characters were well cast and true to the originals....except for the Spock "love interest.....

I'm a hardcore ST next generation fan. I've liked most of the movies. This was a great way of re-introducing the franchise. What impressed me was that they re-imagined the seires AND were able to pay complete respect to the previous series (unlike Battlestar Galactica). My wife who hates most tech movies liked it as well

From start to finish this movie is awesome! Allot of action and special effects. The acting was great by all cast. They did seem to look close to the old actors. My 11 year old son loved it and knows nothing about the old series.

Excellent Movie in regard to the way we learn of the characters and how they met. Great action...Just a really well made movie with mainly unknown who have taken on the mannerisms of the original crew and did a great job of it...I may like this Kirk and Spock better than the originals...

I really enjoyed this movie. I've been a Star Trek fan since the 1960s, and have enjoyed every new series; however I usually need time to connect with the new characters . But these new actors playing old characters immediately drew me in. The story was a little loose, with some plot holes, but that didn't seem to matter. The audience applauded when the movie ended!

With movies costing between $7 and $10 dollars, this one is definitely worth it! I was hoping to be entertained and I was not disappointed! Sometimes, Sequels don't make it but you'll be on the edge of your seat in some sections and sad in others. Not a movie you can guess ahead on!
