The Action was out of this world. . . None stop action and suprises. Memories of the past series. The actors worked well together. A more human factor to this movie; not so perfect as it has been in the past series and movies. All the special effects/computer tech was mind blowing. Can't wait to buy the DVD and to see the next installment. Your never to old for the movies.

StarTrek movies haven't always been among the best --- but this gives great hope for the franchise & making any 'tired old thing' new & interesting again. Regardless of ST associations --- this was simply a good movie, with laughs, thrills, effects, etc.

As an original Star Trek fan, it was everything one could hope for. Fantastic action & effects, marvelous job channeling the characters. Great fun, and lovely to see Nimoy.

Forget everything you know about the Star Trek Universe ... this movie changes all that. So, very likely there were never any troubles with tribbles nor a city on the edge of forever. Spock never returned to Vulcan when he went through pon-farr, and Sarek and Amanda never boarded the Enterprise in "The Journey to Babel." It's a new, altered time-line we're in with this latest movie. (I'm not really giving anything away as most die heard Trekies will know right off that things are happening which conflict with what we know about Kirk's relationship with his Father in the first 10 minutes). Perhaps the time-line will be repaired in the next one ... perhaps not. Either way, this is a truly excellent movie; suspenseful and humorous.

Loved it. The movie kept moving and kept my excitement up. The actors played the characters well. The only character that was hard for me to identify with the original characters was Uhura. She just did not fit right to me.

OK, unlike my husband I have not always been a huge Star Trek fan. But I did grow up watching the series. I got a huge kick out of how really well the characters were played so close to the tv series. It was awesome, Go see it and enjoy!

I was lukewarm to the Original Trek series, but this movie is excellent. My teenage kids who have never seen a star trek movie really enjoyed the show as did I. Easy to follow, stayed within the structure of the old series without much "technological creative license" taken by the director . The character development was excellent to introduce the original cast of heros. Well done!

From start to finish a great mix of characters that held so true to the original cast providing an extra special treat for anyone over 50 that followed Star Trek from the beginning. Even non trekkies that see it find the humor, action and story line teriffic. Great Job! I smell a sequell and can't wait!

Very strong effort for a well known franchise. There was a lot exposition to explain away the original series, but the action and special effects were great, and the acting was superb. If these guys are smart, they will milk this gig for all it's worth.

I was so happy that they did not "out tech" the first star trek. They stayed true to the "before, older" technology. However, when they needed the new transport tech, they worked it out by using the back-from-the-future Spock. I absolutely LOVED Dr. McCoy. He really made the show for me - he was perfect. It was like the original one was back. Loved it!!!!

Having been a Star Trek and science fiction fan for many years I was not excited to learn that the franchise's 23rd century history line had been changed. Yet, I was not disappointed in any way. The storyline has opened up an entirely new franchise option. The actors did a wonderful job in bringing life to characters we've known for 40 years. My wife was very happy to see that you don't need to know anything about the Star Trek universe to enjoy this film - you won't be lost in the plot.
Anyway, just go see it and enjoy yourself.

I grew up watching the original Star Trek and all of the Treks since. I loved the background info on all the crew. The attention to detail was great. Each crew members personalities were very well preserved. I thought that the relationship between Spock & Uhura was a bit out of character for both of the original crew members"
