With superb graphics, a beginning storyline adapted from the animated movie and comics into a world of its own. Robert Downey Jr. fit the part perfectly, with great stride through the movie and brilliant mechanical creations abroad. The storyline alone was wonderful and never too dull to lose the audience. However the ending could have been refitted to a less average attempt since it runs through the norm and does not give us movie people quite the rush we were looking for. However with the beginning story out of the way one can only wonder what marvels will Marvel have for Ironman next?

This movie was very entertaining. The futuristic stuff seem plausible and the humor was a delight. It still had the "super hero" element but that wasn't all there was as in some movies.

This is an exceptionally well done making of the IRON MAN comic book series (of which I was a casual fan) that almost reaches the heights of SPIDER-MAN and BATMAN BEGINS. Only a lack of killer action and a powerful music score keep it from reaching those heights.
As others are saying, Robert Downey Jr. is terrific in the title role and brings humanity and believability to Tony Stark. The surrounding cast is great, with Jeff Bridges' look really lending itself to the antagonist role. Had the film's finale not been too short I would have given this top marks. Still, it's a great film and everything is set up for even better sequels (ala X-Men 2).
By the way, the very last moment before the credits begin is a line by Downey Jr and it brought the house down. Absolutely perfect way to end the film.
STICK AROUND AFTER THE CREDITS! If you don't know about the one final scene then where the heck have you been?

Finally, a superhero film that got it totally right! Most initial superhero films slap together the creation of the hero so they can throw in the villains and special effects. This film is all about the creation of Iron Man, with enough intrigue, villainy, and special effects (not to mention humor!) laced throughout to keep you riveted. And stay past the credits for a small scene that sets us up (thankfully) for a sequel. Well done!

Iron Man far exceeded my expectations. Downey is perfect as Tony Stark, the action and GCI are incredibly well done. See it in theatres, then when it comes out on DVD, go BUY it, don't rent it. This is ownership-worthy. Just over 2 hours, but this movie does not drag at all.

easily rivals Batman Begins and for Marvel possibly their best superhero movie ever. Spiderman or Xmen dont even come close to touching how great this movie was and how exciting they managed to make a origin story.

I was skeptical to go see a comic movie because I don't read them being a girl and all but I went with my boyfriend and this movie was awesome! You didn't have to be familiar with the comic to understand the movie. It kept my attention throughout the very end --there was never a dull moment. I would recommend this movie to any and everyone! The graphics are incredible and the story is very well done. Overall, I think this is the best comic movie I have seen and I hope that they make a sequel.

As Marvel keeps puting out movies, it is getting better with each one. Iron Man is could be the best Marvel superhero movie yet. The updated version of the origin story works well while keeping all the major characters in tact from the comic.
This is a movie that comic fans and non-comic fans will enjoy. Lots of action, thrills, and fun. Hopefully this will bring movies back to the standard 2 hour mark instead of the 88 minute garbage that Hollywodd likes to put out.
Iron Man is the classic popcorn movie that allows the viewer to have fun and doesn't insult the veiwer's intelligence. This movie makes people want to go back to the movies.

Wow! They finally found the right director for a truly engaging super-hero movie. This movie is so involving and entertaining that I wished that I could see "Iron Man II" right when it was finished. At 126 minutes long, it feels like a half hour went by. Robert Downey Jr. is perfect for this role. Surprisingly, it's also a very funny movie! I laughed a lot more than I have at recent Hollywood "comedies". Excellent job by everyone involved.

This movie was phenomenal! I am already a Marvel movie fan, but to my suprise I think I have to put Iron Man on top of the Marvel hitlist. It was well written and directed-- they didnt try to force 2 hours of non-stop action into the movie and then cram a little backstory in wherever it fit. The characters were well developed and explained within a perfcet mix of action, comedy & drama. If you like this genre Ironman is a MUST SEE!

This was not only a fantastic experience on the big screen but also a great plot. Robert Downey Jr. is fantastic as Tony Stark and Jeff Bridges was surprisingly good as the evil Obadiah.

Go see this movie! Special effects are first rate, as you would expect. The characters are truly believable. You can relate with the characters from human perspective. The love interest is humorous and believable as I think we all have been in that type of synerio sometime in our lives. Robert Downey gives a wonderful performance as the lead, Tony Stark. Gwyneth Paltrow is a very believable, Pepper Potts. This movie just works! Indeed a summer blockbuster!

ironman holds up as an excellent action movie, with convincing characters and storyline. Soliid acting from Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard and others give the film a fun tension. The action and effects are high class--nothing looks too CGI-ish. A fun movie for kids and adults, although there is one suggestive scene that is a bit much for kids under 10. Otherwise, a lot of fun.

Just a suggesstion, if many of you like to leave as soon as the credits start rolling, you may want to stay put for a few minutes. This movie was wonderful! Well directed, well acted, perfect blend of humor,action and worldly awareness all mix together to create this masterpiece of modern cinema. Iron Man was an excellent well done movie. It is very faithful to the comics. The Crowd roared when SHIELD was mentioned. Robert Downey Jr was at his best in his portrayal of Tony Stark. He was really into this character and it showed in his performance. Gwyneth Paltrow was good in her role as the assistant who's obviously in love with Stark. Terrence Howard was given that much to do but his role should be expanded in the sequel. Overall an excellent movie worth checking out.

When I first saw the previews for Ironman I was unsure if i really wanted go. I love Marvel Comic movies. But I didnt know a thing about Ironman. No villians no back story NOTHING. After seeing the preview again and again and again lol I decided to go see it! I loved it!!! The humor, the villians, the action, the actors were all great picks to star in this movie. Rob Downey as an superhero. Who would think?!?! Go and see if even if you are unsure cause trust me there is something for everyone (eye candy ladies Rob and Terrence lookin good lol) and lots of cool FX and action. Cant wait for part 2!!!!!! :o)
