Not a great plot and the relationship with the therapist seems highly unlikely. However the whole thing was better than expected. Seth Rogen is the best part of the movie.
Classic Bruce Willis summer flick, even if it's arriving at Holloween. Sardonic deadpan humor, damsel in distress, guns, explosions. Plus Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich. What's not to like? Ignore the critics.
Entertaining but ultimately forgettable. Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. are a good combination for a buddy-cop picture. But as a long-time Doyle fan, it's hard to sympathize with the portrayal of Sherlock Holmes as a martial arts action figure. The resemblance to the original Doyle character is superficial at best. The lead in this movie could have been named almost anything (Ironman of Baker Street, perhaps?).
Even if you've read a lot of science fiction, this movie (and the book) puts a new spin on time travel. The traveler is at the mercy of his "gift" and constantly in fear of his life. The movie is faithful to the concepts in the book, although less brutal.
A great Pixar movie, the best since The Incredibles. Funny and sweet. Lots of unexpected little touches. The trailers give no clue of what this movie is really about.
Moderately entertaining, but not something you'd see twice. I was expecting more, based on the rave review it got in the NY Times. Mildly funny in spots. Basically a triple-cross movie with the same general look & feel as Oceans-11.
