This is my first time reviewing a movie. I chose to see this movie b/c of the high ratings you all posted and I must say, I'm glad I did. I was still skeptical, but I went ahead and saw it. I really didn't think I would like it, but it was GOOD. There was action from beginning to the end. I read where someone said it was on the line with the Transformers and they were right. It was a bit of SciFi too and I love some SciFi. Hope my review is helpful to someone as well. ENJOY!!

This movie was better than I expected. I took my 10 year old nephew and had no expectations that I would actually like it. I did. It had a great plot and kept me interested the whole time. Nice surprise!

Great movie, I enjoyed watching it with my Grandson. It was his pick (14yrs.) but, I think I REALLY liked it too. Probably would see it again on TV or DVD, when it comes out. Kept my interest !

Got to go on Father's Day. My wife gave me the choice of movies to see. I knew that she didn't want to see Iron Man and that this would be a good chance to go see it! She loved it!! She is pretty critical and has not made good comments about any "comic book" based movies to date.

I really did not want to see this movie. DO NOT like Sci-fi / Fantasy ! But this was awesome ! Downey, Bridges and Paltrow were great. Anyone out there like me not liking Sci-fi / Fantasy go and see it anyway. You will not be disappointed. Promise. Never did 2 hours go by so quickly. WOW what a thrill.

Stunning special effects and above average comic book intrigue make this the best super-hero movie to date. If I was only allowed to see only one movie this year, "Iron Man" would my choice.

I have always been a big fan of Robert Downey, Jr. since in high school in the 80's...this was one of the MOST refreshing movies I have seen in a LONG time...good for him...he is so talented and it's nice to see him being rewarded with such a great film...I was so impressed....

Great action flick - Downey and Bridges did a great job in bringing their characters to the big screen, and and how HOT is Paltrow as a redhead - definitely looking for the sequal. Only 4 stars to give them something to shoot for in IM2

Well made film. Picks up on the original character flaws and humanized persona of Tony Starks. Evolves really well in the creation of Iron Man. My 5 year old enjoyed the movie. Some of the dialogue is a bit tiring for them but adults will like it. On the whole, a good kids super-hero movie, much better than the cr*p peddled in Spiderman.

You know a movie is good when you have sat for more than 2 hours without looking at your watch. RDJ has great comedic timing. I am so glad he's back!. Anybody will love this film. There is something for everyone. Comedy, Action, Romance, Drama and 3CG.

I treated my guy to this movie for Father's Day. What a rush! Although the first half hour is slower than the rest of the movie, I found myself screaming in my seat in the early part of the movie when the military convoy in which Robert Downey, Jr. is a passenger, is fired on in Afghanistan. I enjoyed the visual effects, the characters and their interactions, and the plot. Robert Downey, Jr., Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow and the host of characters who played the Afghan guerillas, were quite believable. I would recommend this movie to others and just might go to see it again.,

I would put this next to the X-Men and Spiderman movies. I looked forward to seeing the movie and was not disappointed. If this fits into your genre, then I recommend that you "Don't Miss It!"

Thought the casting was terrific. Downey Jr was perfect for this part. Story line was good, not boring like some of these Marvel movies can go. Effects can be brilliant, but with this both story and effects went hand in hand. Not sure about Paltrow for Pepper Pots, her role to me seem to be a little weak. Maybe they will enhance on that for the next movie. Don't forget at the end of the credits, there is a special piece for the next story line. Don't miss that. Surprise Actor!!!!!

I think that this movie had a great plot and all of the actors/actress' played their roles well. However, this is a great movie for preteens,teens, and adults it will not hold the attention of younger childrenm because this movie describes how IRON MAN becomes himself so he doesn't make his BIG appearance until later, plus this movie is very long for short attention spans. Again, great movie just don't waste your time and money bringing your young ones.

Downey, Paltrow, Howard & Bridges deliver a fantastic fantasy ride. The beginning is a little slow, just hang on once the action starts it never lets you go! Downey not only looks great, but he delivers classic Downey attitude! Paltrow & Howard bring great support & humor. Bridges bold bald look just completes his character. One great way to spend 2 hours!

It was a Okay movie. The first 40 minutes kept dragging on. GP. was good as an assistant. RD was always talking to himself trying to be one step closer to solving Iron Mans fate. JB is bald, what a hoot. I remember him playing Wild Bill Hickcock with long long hair and full beard.Hairy Man!!! the last hour was the best of the movie. Go see it and see for yourself!! Everything about this movie works. The script is well written and prefect for the leads. Downey is perfect for the lead; he's got the right demeanor for the role, lovable, likable and pulls of the "super smart" thing really well. Paltrow is great too; their chemistry works and you want them to hook up. It's got tons of high-tech gadgetry, wonderful comic relief, (Downey has always had great comic timing), and a nice romantic story line as well. While much of it is far fetched, it is really believable the way it's done, remember, it is a comic book fantasy. Excellent production values, beautifully edited, and nicely shot. Seamless CGI work of the highest quality. The CGI for the iron suit is amazing. All in all, an extremely well done film. The story line is plausible and sets the stage for the Iron Man franchise. I'm sure there will be more. Go see it.

Downey has not lost the comedic ability that has always endeared him to fans. It was nice to see Paltrow on the big screen again. She plays the "Pepper the assistant" character with ease. Bridges is always good and even better as the bad guy!

They got this one right on the money. Downey Jr. was excellent as the 'playboy' and superhero. It had a great balance of comedy and action, and was a lot of fun to watch. The only reason i'm giving it 4 stars----it took awhile for Downey to learn how to use the suit, but Bridges hops right in and knows how to control everything?

Great update to current events sets the stage for an engaging and complete experience. Robert Downing Jr. command of sarcastic humor and the horror of his own company's role in playing both sides of a War come full impact against each other. His heart and sole win out over his sarcasm.
The audience experiences the new insights at the same time our main player unravels them. This is a movie I wanted to sit through again and try not to blink so often!
Ok, so are they filming the sequel yet?

Congratulations, Marvel. Your first project as your own studio, and you've make a tremendous splash in the movie industry!
Iron Man is a tricky hero to get right. He's gone through many crisis in his four color incarnation, and there are several key storylines that Marvel could have chosen to tell the tale. But they made the right choice. Back before every comic storyline was an Earth shattering event, Marvel took one of their main characters and tore him apart, destroying his personal life, his business, and even his ability to act as Iron Man, and truly redefined his character, finally allowing Tony to find redemption in his defeat of Obediah Stane. Kudos to Marvel Studios for choosing this as the representative storyline for their movie.
The success of any comic book movie depends on how well the lead can play the human alter ego of the hero. Robert Downey Jr. ACED Tony Stark. The macho ladies man veneer, surrounding the fragile damaged soul beneath, done to a tee. Add in some of the coolest action sequences, some great humor, and a ton of Easter Eggs for the fans (including THE most fan-exciting post-credit sequence in movie history)!
I heavily recommend this movie to everyone, not just comic fans, and I applaud Marvel for opening their movie history with a blockbuster success.

Wow! ....describes it all. I saw Iron Man well into it's theatrical run. It had not been on my list of movies to see in theaters. Word of mouth got me to see it and I'm glad I got to see it in theater (as opposed to waiting for the DVD). This movie was a total unexpected treat. From the acting to the story to pacing to effects this film is a stunner. The 126 minute running time flies by. Stay through the credits: you don't want to miss the last bit and cameo.
