What a pleasant surprise. I saw this 5 weeks into release. Huge laughs, fantastic acting (academy nom for Rudd?) and adult characters who grow as real people through the movie. The audience was cheering/clapping as the end credits rolled. People just stopped walking out as additional scenes roll about 30 seconds into the credits (stick around for those). I hope Paul Rudd is acknowledged for the talent he is from this star turn.
Go ahead and see this guilty pleasure. You won't be disappointed. Statham's a great action hero, fight scenes are incredible, action sequences unbelieveable yet carried out with the proper tongue in cheek. This has the tone Quantum of Solace should have had (which took itself far too seriously). I hope Statham's on board for a fourth.
I loved this movie. Bill is doing us all a favor by pointing out that religion is really nothing more than fairy tales that are taken too seriously. I mean, really, what's the difference between belief in Santa Claus and God? There's no basis for factual existence of either. Also, I didn't realize that there's no real proof that the man known as Jesus really existed. There are so many truths addressed in this movie, everyone should see it. May I suggest required viewing by middle-schoolers? People really need to be more open minded to this sort of subject matter.
Wow! ....describes it all. I saw Iron Man well into it's theatrical run. It had not been on my list of movies to see in theaters. Word of mouth got me to see it and I'm glad I got to see it in theater (as opposed to waiting for the DVD). This movie was a total unexpected treat. From the acting to the story to pacing to effects this film is a stunner. The 126 minute running time flies by. Stay through the credits: you don't want to miss the last bit and cameo.
