This opera is not only a wonderful story with gorgeous music, but the superstars singing in this production were magnificent. Seeing them upclose in the movie like this also allows you to see some fine acting. The whole experience is just wonderful. Keep these great broadcasts coming!

This viewing in White Plains, NY was great. However, I'd like to see the opera with the additions Armida had: people entering the Met, interviews at intermission, etc. This made the event feel more "Live".

Really enjoyed this opera - lovely music and great singing, especially by Renee and Dmitri. However, in the first act the sound was so low the singers could barely be heard. We could also sometimes hear the booming sound vibrations from a neighboring theatre in the movie complex -- this was an unfortunate distraction.

This was my first viewing of Eugene Onegin. Most of the prinicipal voices were superb. The minimalist scenery is a choice that I am ok with. The sound level in the theater I went to (Bay St in Emeryville) was too high. The ears eventually get used to it, but it would be better to start with a more moderate level. I was very pleased overall. A great move on the part of the Metropolitan Opera Company. Mriley

I agree with others who wrote that the sound level is too high. That is my only negative criticism. The production, the costumes, the minimalist settings, and of course the voices and performances -- Splendid! I hope you will run this again.

I loved the production and the cast. But the sound at the AMC in Century City on 7/7 was way too loud, and ruined the experience for me. It would have been better with an intermission also. A shame that such a good production could not be appreciated. The principals were wonderful.

What a great way to start your Thursday off! The spare set and use of lighting to indicate time and place was, I think, brilliant. The costumes were exquisite. Watching the conductor was also interesting, as he has a very strange manner of conducting, but the orchestra was right with him. The principals were all splendid. Onegin is a dreamboat with a gorgeous baritone voice! And Ms. Fleming really held that long letter-writing scene together brilliantly. Lenski's Act II aria broke my heart! The acting was also superb, with no one looking into the pit for cues, even the chorus. BUT: the theater was cold, we could hear the special effects of the movie next to us, and 2 hours 40 minutes is too long for an opera without a break!

The voices and music were great, however - almost no decorations?!! I did not get it.. Also, I saw it on 7/7 at 6:30pm at AMC Century City and whoever's decision it was not to have any intermission in between the acts!..Three hours of uninterrupted music in a row...I love this opera, but it was simply too much. In addition to that, the volume in the theatre was extremely loud.
