I loved this movie. The story was great and the graphics were so good that I didn't notice them. Very few 3-D 'gimmicks' - the things flying out at the screen at you and all that sort of thing. Wonderful for any age range.

This was a very good movie. Visually a masterpiece of colors and cinematagrophy. The story however lacks in being cutting edge or original. It is a visual work of art set to the recycled story of cowboys and indians, the early settlers of America killing the native people. Ferngully meets Star Wars meets Plymouth Rock. I would definately recommend you see it, just dont expect the story to blow you away like the visuals.

This is not a movie I really wanted to see, but because of all the buzz and because it is supposed to be nominated for Oscars, I went to see it. The visuals are stunning as is the use of technology. Other than that - boring. The story is predictable, the mercenary soldiers appropriately heartless, and there is little excitement. Except for about 3 minutes toward the end. This is needlessly long and as I said before, boring.

This movie was a fun-filled, adventure and made 2 hours and 40 minutes seem almost too short! It was simply amazing in 3-D, but probably even that much more so if seen in an I-Max theater. We tried to gets tickets for the I-Max, but tickets were sold out way in advance. This is a MUST-SEE movie.

truly spectacular. not only were the special effects phenomenal, but the story was able to keep up with the special effects and in some ways stand above them. the first film in a while where i can safely say that i was completely entranced in the movie the entire time.

James Cameron has a deep and obvious love for nature which he translated to this film, and this love is what makes "Avatar" worth seeing. The plot, wherein a technologically superior culture is willing to destroy that of the indigenous peoples who happen to be in the way reminded me of "They Died With Their Boots On," the ending of which is much more poignant than "Avatar's." On the other hand, that the entire planet's inhabitants are wiling to come together to defend their home is a profound observation. It brings to mind the Gaia Principle that a planet is a living thing, and so the planet's survival is the responsibility and a necessity for every living thing on the planet.

While the plot was extremely pedestrian and predictable, the effects were quite wonderful at times. However, during the big battle scene, I wasn't sure if I was on Pandora or Endor! It was fun, though, and worth the price of admission for the 3D experience and effects in general. I think that Cameron's long version of ABYSS is a much more interesting movie and wish he had put more time into this story line.

Good movie, think Dances with Wolves, A Man called Horse and Last Samari meet on Pandora. Effects are very, very well done. Some have compared to the leap made by Star Wars. Probably not that much but very neat 3d experience. Plot is predictable.
We saw it at Cineadine that was perfect. A good meal during a 3 hour movie. It didn't seem like almost 3 hours. Wife wanted to go and I had no interest but after seeing it, I would recommend it to others.

I can't understand why anyone would write a bad review for this epic movie! I loved the storyline, the effects are brilliant and the acting is excellent. The colors alone traansport you to a magical place, and the underlying message that everything is a part of a larger whole adds substance and depth. Definitely a film not to miss!
