I loved this movie. The story was great and the graphics were so good that I didn't notice them. Very few 3-D 'gimmicks' - the things flying out at the screen at you and all that sort of thing.
Wonderful for any age range.

Good but mumbling

I'm a huge Holmes fan and, to be honest, was expecting to find this portrayal of Holmes incredibly annoying. As it was, although inaccurate, I really enjoyed the movie. The big drawback, however, was Downey's speed of speech and his mumbling. For someone with an issue with accents (which was excellent) or with hearing issues, I would suggest waiting until you can get subtitles. I can picture my father saying, "what did he say?" throughout the movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
