This is the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. Definately worth seeing in in 3D and at the theater. Yes, the story line is a bit predictable. Good vs. Evil yada yada. But, it is so visually stimulating that you are still on the edge of your seat. We liked it so much we went back and saw it again the next day with our 4yr old son in tow. He was so into the visual effects that he was able to sit through this 2 hr 40min movie with little to no problem. Bravo James Cameron & crew for making everything look so real.

Knowing this movie was almost 3 hours long, was a little hesitant to go. that's a long time to sit. Because of all the great cinematography, it was so easy to be enthralled. I was indeed skeptical of going to a theatre and sitting through this movie for such a lengthy time. It turned out that it was so intense and so colorful that it did entertain me and kept me glued to my seat. I am very excited that I did decided to see it in a theatre it would not nearly be the same seeing it at home on your television. Definately take the time and go and see it. It is worth the time and money to see it on the big screen with surround sound and crunch on some popcorn....!

First off, this is easily the most visually appealing movie of all time. The 3D effects were done so well and none of it was the cheesy "coming at you" stuff just to show off 3D technology. It was more to add depth to the movie, which it did very well. We felt immersed in the movie and not merely watching it. As for the story, it was good, but a little predictable in parts. That's not to say there weren't surprises, just that some scenes were glaringly obvious that it was build-up for later on. There weren't any parts where we went "oh, that was lame", except maybe a small bit of dialogue. We could definitely recommend others to see it in the theaters, and would suggest catching it in 3D or even IMAX. Well worth the extra money.

I fully recommend this movie to all types of movie viewers. It hits a lot genres within one movie. The effects of this movie really brought out of how real Pandora looked. It was almost like you were there. This movie was one of a kind and I hope to see a sequel in the future.

A solid 3 out of 5. The last 45 minutes are boring as heck. The movie has no originality. It is worth seeing for the graphics, though 3D really doesn't add much to it. If anyone complains about "political statements" I counted exactly two, and they were oblique at best.
It's not Oscar material - nor the Golden Globe it just won. Go see Precious.

This was an incredible 3D experience. In the IMAX 3D theater you feel like you are transported to another world. The imagery is so vivid, and the picture is so clear. The CGI was incredibly realistic. You don't mind that it's almost 3 hours long because the experience is so exhilarating and the scenery is so imaginative.

I didn't feel like I was watching a movie, I was experiencing a whole other world, a world I'd love to be a part of. The movement and gestures of the characters were unbelievable and the emotion that went in to bringing them to life on behalf of the actors allowed me to connect with them immediately. The heartfelt message of the story and the imagination that went into it, not to mention the unbelievable beauty of the animation left me wanting more. I can't wait to experience it again, you can't just see it once!! Go experience for yourself!

If I could give this movie 10 stars, I would! I love everything about it, except that it isn't reality. It is so amazing, I've gone to see it twice, and would gladly see it again. My eyes didn't leave the screen for a moment, except having to leave the theater to use the ladies room. (I ran all the way there and back, much to the amusement of the theater employees.) I would recommend this movie for anyone to see, in 3D or the regular version. Both are astounding...

This movie definitely deserves the attention it's been getting. While some people feel the need to say "I don't get what all the fuss is about" they're missing the point. Even though it's a re-hash of Dances With Wolves, which is a re-hash of etc. etc., the imagined world is well thought out and the storyline and characters keep you intriged through out the 2 hrs & 40 mins running time. Iagree that you should see it in an IMAX theater if you can. Make sure you sit far enough up and near to the center.

This was easily one of the best movies i have ever seen. the story was pretty good although slightly predictable but this was more than made up for by the unbelievable effects that the movie kept throwing at you. it was an amazing experience that i will not soon forget. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!

Usually a long film has peaks and valley's. Avatar avoids this trap and keeps you entertained throughout. Whether it is witty banter between characters, the unfeeling commander planning the destruction of the race, the scenery and exotic animals or the action packed battle scenes there is never a dull moment!
