WOW!!! I was completely blown away! I didn't want to blink, I can't believe how well this was done. I felt like I was in Pandora myself.
I noticed so many more details than when I watched it on dvd. I loved the new scenes. I fell in love with this movie all over again.
Such a well done movie I am so glad it was brought back to the Big Screen!!! And it is so worth seeing in IMAX 3D

My second time to see it and my heart still races during the flying scenes. The 3D makes it feel like you are "in" the movie. Climbing the floating mountains was amazing. Discovering the local animals and plants with Jake was clever and fun.
I really liked the extra scenes added to the orginal. The new details add complexity... you get to see inside the closed school w/ bullet holes, an analogy created by the "american indian" bison hunting, burning of the dozers, steamier love scene and death of the warrior.
Was it just me or did they add all the bugs and flies to this version?
I took my parents who thought 3D was too gimmicky to go to the first release. They loved it.

So, I cant believe this movie was beaten out of oscar for best director. Clearly, there were some idiots voting on this. I am no youngster and I have seen this movie 4 times, own it and am holding my breath on a sequel. I have never been so enthralled by a movie. I give it 6 out of 5 stars. Everything is secondary to the visual experience of this movie...including plot and musical score. James Cameron has done something amazing with taking you to a whole new world; no question. But in 2 hours and 45 minutes you'd think there would be more character development and a more intricate plot. It's pretty predictable... miners/military are bad guys who attack the "under dog" natives for the sole purpose of greed and bloodlust. This film would have been largely panned had it not been for the science fiction side of avatars, alien world, etc.

This is a great movie! The special effects are out of this world. The storyline flows evenly and beautifully. Cameron did a good job on this one as did all the actors playing dead on perfect. It is enjoyable and you root for the good guys but feel for the bad guys even if they are not well liked. The characters make you feel which ia the goal of a good movie. There are intense scenes that some younger viewers may get scared but the rest of the film will have them glued to the seat. My 7 year old loves this film! As far as the added on scenes, some were very beautiful and fulfilling. One scene could have been left out as it did not add to the film but had you trying to figure things out. I would and have gone back to see this movie again in theaters. It is worth it!!

After watching the extended version of Avatar, I have to admit that I appreciated them. Those added scenes explained more of what was going one. Why they were deleted in the first place, who knows. Was it worth pay $16 to see it on the big screen, not really. I could have waited until it came out on dvd.

This movie is beautiful so I gave it three stars. I was disappointed - I expected the beauty but thought the story would be better. The story seemed to be a combination of older movies - Dances with Wolves and Return of the Jedi come to mind. Peaceful (or) beautiful (or) spiritual tribe attacked by technologically advanced bad guys. The actual avatar story line is not pursued in a satisfying way, I expected a little more SciFi. It is soooo predictable.

My 14 y/o son and I went to see this movie again in 3D- WOW this is how AVATAR should be viewed. No words can describe how excellent it is. Would recommend to everyone.

Avatar in 3D was an awesome movie and one I want to see again in 3D Imax! (I've pre-ordered the DVD too) While there were a few slow spots, overall, there was a lot of action and the story line was intriguing and kept my attention. Great effects too!
