Nice installment of the Mission Impossible series- lots of action and plenty of laughs. Good, solid performances by the cast.Without giving away too much- it was pretty funny to see how the team has to finish their mission(s) without any support, hence Ghost Protocol. Things don't go as planned and the equipment has "technical issues". No slick spy moves, but almost more realistic in a way. Highly enjoyable way to spend 2 hours and $15.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

RED is an over-the-top, fun action movie that completely delivers on laughs and explosions. Helen Mirren steals every scene she's in and Mary Louise Parker is quirky and fun. John Malkovich plays the best "crazy" of any actor I've ever seen and does not disappoint here. The plot is a little predictable but an overall good movie. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it needed an R rating (and R rating content) to get that 5th star. Bruce Willis plays the big "softie" and it's hard to see "John McClane" acting lovelorn, but oh well, it's freaking Bruce Willis!! Totally worth my $10 ticket.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Everything is secondary to the visual experience of this movie...including plot and musical score. James Cameron has done something amazing with taking you to a whole new world; no question. But in 2 hours and 45 minutes you'd think there would be more character development and a more intricate plot. It's pretty predictable... miners/military are bad guys who attack the "under dog" natives for the sole purpose of greed and bloodlust. This film would have been largely panned had it not been for the science fiction side of avatars, alien world, etc.
Saw this in a packed theater with other action flick fans. The plot is simple, the dialogue is minimal and the explosions are awesome. This is not a hommage to '80's action movies, it IS an '80's action movie. The bad guys are bad guys, and the good guys have bigger badder weapons and always win. If they make a sequel there is room for improvement but it was $10 and time well spent. Just watching the fight scene(s) under the palace was worth the entire price of admission.
