The prize in this movie is the phenomenal graphics and 3-D imagery. the story is just a remake of the big, mean mining company taking away the land from the Apaches with there connection to Mother Earth. The bad guy goes native and falls for the Native (Nav'i) Princess and switches sides. Ho-hum. It is done well but there is not an ounce of creativity to the story line.
Go to see the magic. It is incredible and the time did fly by. The visuals are so incredible it almost makes up for the lack of an original story.

i saw avatar for the first time in 2D and just saw it for the 2nd time in 3D. watching it in 3D was like watching it for the first time. i loved it! the 3D was not distracting. it eased you into the 3D at the beginning so you could get used to it, and then just pulled you into the movie. i liked that it didn't throw 3D stuff in there just for the heck of it. it really made you feel as if you were in the movie. now i want to see it in IMAX 3d!

This is definitely the second coming of 'Star Wars' with superb animation and original other-worldly imagination. The plot and dialogue, like 'Star Wars', are minimal, but the animated action makes one think "who cares?". Not sure the 3D version added much, but would like to see if the IMAX version is better.

Great movie! I will go see it at least one more time in the theater. It is everything you would expect from a James Cameron movie. We saw it in 3D and were glad that we did. The special effects were awesome especially during some of the night scenes. The plot was predictable, but you actually do care for the characters unlike the last three second Star Wars trilogy.

Remarkable. Cameron creates such a lush world, steeped in mythology and rich philosophy--a true, complete culture. To any who call the story of this movie "unoriginal" or assert that the 3D component is what makes it worth seeing, I strongly believe that you're wrong. While it undoubtedly has strong parallels to Pocahontas, The Matrix, etc., this story is quite unique because the world in which it takes place is unique. The 3D is not what makes this movie; the story and epic scale make the movie. The 3D only elevates them by helping to immerse us in the world. If what happened in the world weren't compelling, it wouldn't be worth being a part of it.

I went to see Avatar with an unbiased opinion and came out very impressed! The cinematography and 3D adaption was executed very well. Avatar has set it's self apart by creating the first computer animated storyline successfully blending it with an epic movie. Although the storyline was predictable, the viewer was still left with a good range of action and adventure, not to mention good acting. In a nut shell, I highly recommend seeing this spectacular movie, but make sure you allocate plenty of time to see this 160min film!

A more involved story would have left the viewer confused as you are so focused on this fasinating world. I am going to see it again. SEE IT IN 3D or IMAX but SEE IT!!

The movie was a blast. I feel like the best movies are those that keep you so interested and immersed in the movie, and so glued to the seat that you lose perception of time. Avatar kept me captivated through an interesting plot line, captivating graphics and a constantly moving pace. The movie has a great (albeit cheesy) ending and is definitely worth going to see.

Was very well done. I had not read any of the reviews, so I did not know what to expect. There were eight people in our group, ranging in age from 11 to 68. Every one of us loved the movie. The time went by too quickly, and we are all looking forward to the sequel. The 3D/special effects were incredible, and I believe it should be up for an academy award! Enjoy... :)
