Truely was best movie ever. The 3D effects were better than I expected. Story line was great also. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend seeing it. Wonder if they could put it on a dvd to be able to watch it at home in 3D also? Will go back to see other 3D IMAX movies.

A mix between Duke Nukem and Ferngully. The story was Pocahontas except for the end. It looks very expensive. It was very long. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because it was pretty. That's it. I will never see this again. Titanic was awesome.

We loved it in 3-D, and it was our 1st 3-D. neither of us are movie goer's, and this movie was recommended to us for its spiritual content. It was harsh in places...but.....It's Hollywood. i recommend it highly. The planet they created was beautifully done, and the ways of the people who inhabited it. The floating mountains were my favorite! Unfortunately, the way we (the US) was portrayed was not far from the truth. OUCH!!! We are all connected and sometimes that is a hard reality to remember. Love your brother or Sister.......as yourself. Go see it!

I am not a Sci-Fi fan and really don't enjoy most movies that are unrealistic. However, THIS MOVE WAS GREAT! I have seen three or four 3D movies but this is the best I have seen.
It is a must in IMAX if you really enjoy movies.
Last thing: FOCUS On Peripheral vision because you will see Avatar's walking or moving up the stairs on your right and left. I originally thought what nuts would be leaving and coming back but finally realized it was part of the move.

Avatar was a treat for the visual senses but a disappointment otherwise. The characters were caricatures in the extreme. Sully was mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon and the military guy in charge was somewhere between Stallone' Rambo and Arnold (I'll not try to spell the Calif Gov's last name). That would have been ok were it not for the hitting over the head with how bad humans really are - that we simply create villians or terrorists so that we can kill'm later. The movie was a good 30-60 minutes too long.

I have to give Avatar credit for using 3D to enhance the movie, not dominate the movie. The scenery was beautiful, someone loves cnidarians (jelly fish and sea anemones )and all manners for phosphorescence. The story was predictable and tired. If I had just read the script, I would swear I had been to this movie way too may times before.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Everything about this movie is amazing, breathtaking. Seeing it in 3D the scenery, picture, story, acting, etc.,... the whole world this movie creates and portrays sucks you right in and makes you want to be a a part of it. I have seen it twice so far. NOTE: RECOMMENDATION: when seeing it in 3d, make sure you do not sit too close to the front. the middle section on the stadium is always best. if you are too close the 3d is blurry a lot of the time and does not have the same effect.

Let me start by saying that I love movies and I could probably watch a blank screen and enjoy it. Avatar was a beautiful movie to watch, not because of the story or the acting, but for the visual richness presented on the screen. The story was actually quite boring and I never felt real fear for the main character since he spent most of the movie in a box while his Avatar was doing the fighting. By the time he actually is in real danger at the end, I didn't care. I was ready for the movie to be over. I know the movie is doing great and is hitting its target audience. If I were 12, I'll bet I'd love it. While I'm glad I saw it, it was just OK.
