i went with my wife and sister-in-law last night and i'll admit i was a little skeptical at first, but once the movie started i was amazed at how well put-together the movie was. it kept you entertained with the 3-d animation along with the storyline. i strongly recommend the 3-d version just to make it a bit more entertaining than it already is... great movie!

This movie was perfect in every way. What a joy to the eyes to watch in IMAX 3D. I liked it more than Avatar. The movie was not meant for kids but I didn't see much that would scare a kid too badly. A+!! 5 stars!!!! An absolute masterpiece. Tim Burton is a wonderful visionary.

Title says it all. If you're new to 3-D, some effects are really impressive but the story is just another glorified film about British imperialism. The original Alice would have been a better choice for the effects.

If you know Tim Burton then you know this was not a light and ethereal fairy tale. I found it to be in his usual realm of darkness with his own colorful edge and unique style. I don't think it was Johnny Depp's best performance but it is what it is.

This movie drags with no real beginning, no (reasonable) plot, and a dreary end. Alice is trapped in a world where all the characters are more interesting than she is, while Johnny Depp's character "The Madhatter" isn't mad, but in fact trying to make himself the star with inconsistent accents, unfunny statements, and quirky movements. The movie was created with zero imagination and relies heavily upon its special effects, which is lost as the 3D is non existent as well. Put a fork in Tim Burton... he is done.

The Imax 3D was amazing. The story is just a typical version of how Tim Burton would potray Alice in Wonderland. Not that great. Don't get your hopes up. And if I have to hear Tim Burtons wife scream "off with their heads" one more time I'm going to go insane.

would I recommend this movie to a friend ? Yes, but with some hesitation.
DO NOT go for IMAX in this movie. It's useless here and even blurs picture sometimes.
Good: Brilliant images, good actors.

I wanted to love this movie. Really. Tim Burton's past successes (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride), along with Johnny Depp should have made this a smashing success. Unfortunately, it fell short. The story was completely flat, with a go nowhere plot. There was no excitement, no sense of urgency, and no substantial character development. Even the IMAX 3D was mediocre, especially because it was not originally filmed in 3D (but Burton wanted to cash in on the phenomenon that Up! and Avatar enjoyed). See it for the visual beauty, but fall back on Disney's classic for the real deal.

This movie was a good movie. Tim Burton orginally filmed it in 2D and the decision to make it 3D was made after filming was done.
This was supposed to be a fairly dark themed movie not some jovial fairy tale. This movie definitely had a message yet it didn't spoon feed the message to you.

Not for kids at all. The setting of the movie was very dark and gloomy. Nothing I would have imagined for this classic story. The 3D effect wasn't great at all. The british accent and weird voice of Johnny Depp was very hard to understand. Half the time, I had no idea what he was saying. It felt like a 3+ hour movie. I say, wait for it on redbox! That's about all it was worth was $1 rental.

It was a lovely film, beautiful and grotesque on the IMAX in 3D. I love the way that Tim Burton expresses beauty, approaching the ideal and then just rubbing it in some crud...making it not quite right. Marvelous.

First this is a children's story with some adult themes as almost all kids story have. Your real young kids my find it interesting just for the looks of the film. This is a movie for the eyes to see. You will wonder through out the movie how 'they do that' for it is filled with wonders for the eye. The story my seem weak but this is a child's story not a Die Hard movie. Somewhere between Good and Excellent. The IMAX 3D was great. Spectacular special effects. Surprisingly, there was actually a plot to the movie, unlike Carroll's original story (which is a mishmosh of weirdness anyway). This is more of an "Alice Sequel", but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Tim Burton did well.

I thought Alice in Wonderland was merely okay. The characters and story was well done but the pacing was slow and there wasn't a lot to keep you invested. I walked out of the movie thinking that it wasn't bad but it wasn't very good. I can't justify seeing it in IMAX 3D due to the above examples. Save 4 dollars or so and see it in regular.

It was entertaining, but not as great as it was hyped up to be. The actors were good, and the set was good. I'd see it again, but not at the Imax.

The movie was a first IMAX 3D experience for me and I couldn't be more pleased with the effects. The story was wonderful with a lesson or two snuck in and the effects were wonderful. Johnny Depp was wonderful as the Mad Hatter and my niece & nephew sat still the entire time. That's a great movie!

I thought it was a lot of fun and very entertaining. I think it's a little too intense and violent for very small children, however.
