My children and I went to see this and drove an extra 20 miles to get the IMAX experience. We were not disappointed, however, I believe the 3D version would have been enough. IMAX really lent itself to the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum flying sequence, almost to a nauseating degree. The story was wonderful, loved Johnny Depp's performance (as usual), and casting was perfect (for voices as well as actors.) Once again, Tim Burton has proved himself a visionary and genius. Loved it.

The visuals in this movie are stunning and the actors are great. The storyline lags a little at times, but overall, the movie was very good. I would also recommend this movie for children, which surprised me. I thought it might scare kids, but after watching it, I think children would enjoy it as well.

True to the trend of animations and other meant for children films/stories, this one had a darkness to it not traditionally in Disney films. It's an interpretation still so no one should expect an exact visualization of the written story. Burton did a good job, as he always does, of putting the whimsical, nonesensical on screen. There were some cheesy points, true to Disney tradition, like the little dance the Mad Hatter does and the "strive to be yourself" message. Overall, it was an enjoyable movie and not nearly as creepy as the newest version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Coraline so children should like it too.

If you go to this movie looking for another Avatar experience, you are not going to get it in any way. The 3D in this movie doesn't even get close to Avatar. The story isn't very good either, it's not Alice in Wonderland.

I think this is Tim Burton's best. It's nice to see him do something more live rather than animated. He has souch a unique take on things. This is not your typical fairy tale as you can imagine. 3-D was amazing!! Catch it in 3-D while you can.

'Alice' is pure entertainment done Burton style. If you're expecting the tired old White Rabbit Lewis Carroll story you're in for a shock. Go see 'Alice' with the expectation that you will see an amazing story with a fantastic soundtrack and you will not be disappointed. Burton brilliantly paralles Alice's life in London with her life in Wonderland. He brings the story full circle and of course Johnny Depp steels the show!

The Alice and Wonderland purist may not like this movie. I however enjoyed it very much. It kept my attention the entire time, as well as my 9 year old son. The visuals were perfect. It did divert from the original story line a little but all in all the Hatter was "mad", the tea party was chaotic, Alice was enchanting and mischievous and the Queen of Hearts was terribly, hilariously wicked. Johnnie Depp did slip into his Jack Sparrow voice once or twice but I forgive him.

This was my first IMAX 3D movie experience and it was wonderful. The visuals and the whimsey of the scenes and the characters were totally magical and magnificent. I could not understand half the things the Mad Hatter was saying with his wierd accent. It seemed as though the sound was speeded up as most of the characters language was difficult to understand. Overall - everyone should see it.

The 3D effects were completely worth it - spend the dough, it's brilliantly filmed.
Story - eh, it's OK. You know it, no big whoop.
If you are into people dressing up, check out the fan boards. People plan gatherings where they dress up for late shows (usually weekends).
This will probably make a GREAT blu-ray as well.
PS - this isn't a cartoon, so don't bring young kids. They will probably get bored.

This was fun to see. The visuals were great. Our family were all in agreement that we would not have liked to see this as a rented movie as the story-line was not anything that would have us wanting to see it again. However, the experience as an IMAX feature was beautiful and fun.

I wasn't mad when I got up and left. I saw it in IMAX 3-D with three 9 yr old boys. They seemed to enjoy it. The visual experience is enjoyable, but no where near that of an Avatar. The message is nice though at the end.

Thought this movie was really good. Loved the music and the vibrant colors that are played upon in the movie. I will be going to see it again and buying it when it comes to DVD
