This movie was good not great. For me it jumped around a lot and was a little disjointed. I think the casting was spot on for Prof. X and Magneto. The dialog between these 2 characters was perfect. I always wonder what makes them use certain characters like "Angel". Her character sucked and watching her fly made me want to scream. They seem to never get that right with the female characters. All in all a good movie to see to get more background on the X-Men.
Good story, not as action packed as the other ones but a true story. Everyone was great and it was fun to watch. A bit long but still worth seeing on the big screen.
I really enjoyed this movie. Not just because when I was a kid that I was always Thor in our games, but because Thor was so accurately cast it was shocking. The industry has a knack for getting it wrong but they nailed it this time. Thor's character made up for some things that were lacking in this movie. Natalie Portman was ok and so was the rest of the cast. Great special effects and the Destroyer was awesome. It made my stomach curl when it made the death noise. I need one of those for solicitors. The gate keeper was pretty cool as well. Go see it ...worth the time to see a cool flick on the screen. Also some really funny lines from Thor.
This movie had me enthralled from the beginning. It was beautifully shot and well acted. There were moments when it dragged a little, but made up for it by telling an intense story with an enchanting leading lady. Saoirse is fantastic as Hanna. Cold, calculating and thouroughly entertaining to watch. Cate Blanchette was merciless as her nemesis. All in all a very good movie with enough curious moments to keep you wanted just a little more.
They all still have it. Great fun and sexy to boot. The kiss between Helen and Morgan was full of electricity. We should be so lucky to be that vibrant and edgy at that age. See this movie with friends for a great time. Bruce is awesome and yummy to watch. John is a wonderful kook!
As usual a good movie that has so much potential to be really funny falls short. It was a great story and beautifully done, but the laughs were far and few between. A movie like Shrek should always go for the highest level of excitement and fun factor and this didn't hit it. I was falling asleep after the first 45 minutes. Also the 3D sucked. I'm really sick of these movies saying they are in 3D and the best effects are the title in the beginning and the credits at the end. Save the couple of bucks and see it the old school way or wait for video.
Finally an animated movie that hits all the marks. Funny, silly, intelligent, innovative and enduring. I took my son who is 9 years old to this movie and it held his attention the entire time. I was lost in the movie as well. I haven't been to an animated movie that kept me interested for more than the first 20 minutes in a long time. It was really well thought out. I love that they didn't just leave the movie to dumb jokes and antics. It was wonderful. The 3D was incredible.
The Alice and Wonderland purist may not like this movie. I however enjoyed it very much. It kept my attention the entire time, as well as my 9 year old son. The visuals were perfect. It did divert from the original story line a little but all in all the Hatter was "mad", the tea party was chaotic, Alice was enchanting and mischievous and the Queen of Hearts was terribly, hilariously wicked. Johnnie Depp did slip into his Jack Sparrow voice once or twice but I forgive him.
I am a huge fan of Hell Boy and Pan's Labyrinth so I was a little let down by Hell Boy II. The special effects were great and the creatures were out of this world. There seemed to be way to many lags. The pace was not fast enough and when they would get the momentum going they would throw us into dialog that was way to long and drawn out. I think this could have been at least 45 minutes shorter. I hate to say it but wait for video.
The movie was really good at staying true to the original show. Carell and Hathaway were great together. I loved the Rock. His humor is always great. Steve Carell was made for this movie. His timing is perfect. I will say that it was about 45 minutes to long . As usual a great move turns just good when they can't seem to get the editing right. All in all a movie worth seeing.
