I wasn't looking forward to seeing this movie because I didn't care for the book. However, my 9 and 13 yr olds wanted to see it, so we did. I actually enjoyed the entire film. Much better than the boring, black and white book.

OK...this was absolutely on the mark for my sense of humor! I wished there would have been maybe an Aunt or Cousin that he hired to be sitting in the Lab with a microphone, to announce his entrance..."Welcome Flint!" My children and I went with a large group of friends...parents and children. The kids were laughing and the adults were laughing more! So someone mentioned it was predictable...it's for children and it's animated, I expect this! What I loved was that it was lots of fun and had a great message...bigger and more does not mean better! Especially in today's society where this is an everyday occurrence. Great job!

Took my 6 and 7 year old daughters. They loved it. 3-D was great. Story was formulaic, and entirely predictable, but the visuals were so cutting edge and so much fun that I can't help but give this movie 4 Stars. I agree with other reviewers that the film did feel rushed and could have benefitted from a little more character development, but worth a trip to the theaters to see it in 3-D

In terms of faithfulness to the original book, this movie fails to deliver. However, it did an excellent job of taking some of the basic concepts of the story and making a really fun movie out of it.
The 3D technology, while a neat gimmick, is not ready for prime time. and certainly not worth 13 bucks a head. This was the first time I'd seen a theatrical 3D movie since the 80s at Disney, and I was disappointed that the technology hasn't progressed as much as I'd hoped. Perhaps it was the equipment in our particular theatre that wasn't working properly.

The movie was great! It had my 8 yr old grandson sitting on the edge of his seat in anticipation of what was going to happen next. It told a heart-warming story of a boy that wanted to help his town and gain acceptance from his Dad he thought he never had. It was never dull and went by way too fast. I thoroughly enjoyed it too. I highly recommend this movie to anyone with children. What a refreshing movie. ***** Five Stars in my book!!

Our entire family went with friends and the kids and adults all really liked this movie. My daughter had read the book and was somewhat disappointed that the story didn't follow it at all but was still very pleased with the movie. Very impressive 3-D.

This movie was great! My son, 8, and my daughter, 5, loved it! My 5 year old even watched without the 3D glasses, this is my only gripe. The glasses just don't stay on her little face! The movie was very funny, the animation was excellent and the 3D was amazing!

My son (7) and I (44), loved this movie. The 3-D was great on this film. One of the best 3-D movies that we have seen this year. As for the ney-sayers in these reviews...this is a children's movie, a fun story and escape for your children....lighten up with the heavy critical reviews! This movie was fun and was worth the $$ to listen to my son's laughter at some of the funny moments in the story.

Absolutely loved the 3D version. I took my 10 year old stepson to the early afternoon show. He and I love these kinds of movies while Dad not so much. The movie was most delightful and funny too, also had a good message in it. Several scenes caused him to do the "gut laughing" which I love to hear from him. All in all, kids as well as adults will love it.
