I look my 6 and 9 year olds to this movie. It had fantastic 3D affects. The story it self was ok. My children said it was just "ok". I myself fell asleep towards the end.
While I understand that conceptually, this is a beautiful film, I believe they missed the mark with target audience. Adults can appreciate the technical work and the expression of the story through movement and emotion. Children cannot pull all these pieces together. It is these children who are most intereted in seeing this film. For young children, language is critical in teaching lessons. Left up to their own abilities, it is difficult in this film. As a parent who then must work on getting their child their the film, it is not worth it given all they have spent in money to see the film. They deserve to have their children entertained and not have to do the entertaining.
