Read the book and loved the movie which is unusual for me to love both! Has a wonderful message and brought my 10 year old daughter, who also loved the movie. We can't wait to follow Michael's NFL career more closely!

This movie was one of the most inspiring movies I've seen in a long time - a very long time. Interestingly, after 1,400 reviews on this site - it is averaging a strong 5 stars. How many movies do that? So it begs the question - why does hollywood.com rate it only 2 stars? Hmmm - out of touch maybe? Are the masses really that wrong. It's a long way between a 2 star rating and a 5 star rating. Maybe Hollywood.com has a higher insight - or just doesn't understand that people like stories that betray real life heroes - and shucks, even if they are Christians. This is a great story of helping the helpless. Sandra B. hit this out of the park.

My husband and I both enjoyed this movie immensely. Very touching and entertaining as well. I highly recommend for all ages-my parents and college aged son have also seen it and enjoyed it very much. I will watch this one again!

Often, our whole lives seem driven by the quest for success, to the exclusion of basic civility and compassion This film portrays a family's genuine interest in a young man who needs a family. Sensitively done, the film shows the Touhy family to be compassionate without being condescending. In this film many, blinded by materialism, will see another way of addressing the haves vs. the have-nots. The wealthy family never apologized for their resources They simply shared them. Sandra Bullock was dynamic.

The inspiring and motivating story is about a family who took in a homeless teen. Both Micheal and SJ were well played. Sandra Bullock did a great job as well. I have seen it twice and have recommended it to at least ten others.

Sandra Bullock was incredible. The story is compelling. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it isn't one of those movies that MUST be seen in the theater in order to get the total experience. It would be equally good, at home, on blu ray DVD...even without surround sound.

Michael Oher in the movie (Quinton Aaron) is phlegmatic, uninspired and uninspiring character. Not once would you believe that this hulk of a person possessed the competitive will to win that does make, at the end, an NFL player; nor does he show any curiosity or a joy in the game. The rest of the characters are so carton-cut stereotype that it hurt to watch. ABC 20/20 segment on the real Tuohy family, that made me want to see the movie, was infinitely more moving, honest and believable.

We thought it was definately one of the best movies we have seen in a long time. It was heartwarming and feel good. It made you want to go out and help someone. If this wasn't a true story it would seem unbelievable. It restored faith in mankind again. It's nice to be able to believe in mankind again.

This movie was simply a true story that shows Hollywood they can't make up anything better than reality. Rudy was like it. A far-fetched story that really happened is more inspirational than any fiction. It makes you wonder how many great movies could be made, if movie makers spent less time dreaming things up, and took the time to investigate real life tales. Lots of ordinary people have incredible true stories to tell. Let's put more of them on the screen.
