Maybe because I haven't seen many trailers for this movie, I was not ready for the plot line at all. I won't write a spoiler here.
I found the movie funny at times and, admittedly, it was the juvenile humor that made me chuckle, but that humor could have been delivered by anyone. I expected better from Carell and Fey. Maybe they just can't act out of their comfort zone?
The plot was kind of dumb. it tried to mix drama (failed) with humor (failed) with romance (failed). Maybe if they tried only two of those it could have worked but it was a reach for this movie to hit all three.
Full disclosure... my wife thought it was a very funny movie and liked it alot.

This movie is by far the funniest of 2010 to date! It not only offers physical humor & wit, it offers love, friendship, trust and adventure. All long time married couples with children should be able to relate to this movie and should be able to take something home from it. This movie was all I expected, and more! I went with my 16 and 17 year-old teenagers and I didn't think anything was inappropriate for them or too risque for me. I was totally shocked to see this movie was rated PG13 ~ after I took four 13 year olds to see it, even they said it wasn't rated correctly. LOTS of crude sexual humor and LOTS of naked bodies. Not a movie that I would recommend for anyone under 17!

A good movie for both a male and female to see together, both will be intertained throughout the movie. Granted like all movies there is some dumb or slow parts throughout the movie, but overall, a decent flick. I liked the movie. There were a few laugh out loud moments, but as a huge fan of both The Office and 30 Rock I expected more. The interaction between Steve and Tina was great. Mark Wallberg was great and created some hilarious moments, but I just didn't care for the plot.

We heard good things about this and gave it a try. My wife and I almost walked out because it was so boring. Tina Fey brings her SNL skit-level acting to this. She is a B actress and not very interesting. Hardly anybody in the theatre laughed during this movie. I chuckled two or three times, and the rest of the time we kept waiting for it to get better, which it didn't. The ad-lib was easy to pick out: when the script went from bad to worse. If you like Carell and Fey, you will certainly LOVE this movie because you'll convince yourself it's wonderful. We love Carell in The Office and the 40yo Virgin, but I have yet to see anything impressive from Fey, and the two of them are fairly lousy in this trying-too-hard-to-be-funny timewaster.

Just not as sophisticated as I had expected. The story-line and dialogue were smart enough and the acting was great - romantic relationships were really truthful and believable. The action scenes, however, were not compelling, and the film's whole seemed beneath most of the cast. I have a feeling something really good and a bit more edgy was lost in editing. The talent and appeal of both Steve Carell and Tina Fey, combined with the comedic chemistry between them, made the silly plot seem irrelevant. Both characters had terrific lines, including some clearly ad-libbed bits, and several laugh out loud scenes made this movie a joy to watch.

I haven't laughed this much in a movie in a long time.. Very clever and great humor.. I would see it again. Steve Carell and Tina Fey are great...

This was a very enjoyable comedy. The actors have good chemistry and the dialogue is intelligent and witty. Laugh out loud funny at times. I would highly recommend it.

Good movie. I only looked at my watch twice. Burst out laughing more times than that. Stay until the credits finish rolling.
