While the movie did have me laughing hysterically a few times, I left the theater feeling very disappointed. It was a little long, awkward at parts, and I felt like Mark Wahlberg was constantly screaming. His voice really got on my nerves. I was glad I only paid $5 for my ticket..... definitely a movie for an at home rental night instead of going to the movie theater night.

Mark Wahlberg rarely does comedy, but when he does he's a natural. Will Ferrell tones down his frenetic energy as the "straight man" to Wahlberg's angy cop.
The movie begins with super cop duo Duane "The Rock" Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson dominating the NY scene. They are "The Guys". Ferrell is a police accountant who does their paperwork along with Wahlberg his unhappy partner. They don't go out on assignment and thus are "the Other Guys." Michael Keaton is their boss and has a moonlighting job to support his bisexual son's expensive college. Steve Coogan is the focus of their investigation. Eva Mendes is Ferrell's hot wife.
Of course its all quite ridiculous, but hey, its a Will Ferrell movie. Its not rocket science or Hamlet. Yet it works. Its funny, its uneven, but when it hits its mark its hilarious. Look for Derek Jeter. And stay after the credits for a final scene.

Humorous, light spirited, and relaxing. Obviously is NOT serious humor, but to relax, kick back, and laugh it fits the niche perfectly. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg work together well, playing off each other expertly. In response to all of the reviews stating all the funny parts are in the previews, not true. Although many of them are shown, there are plenty of other humorous situations that are not shown to make it worthwhile!

Laughed out loud for most of it, chuckled for the rest. The third act is a little slow, but still worth it. The running gags don't run out of steam, which is good -- because the secret to good comedy is reincorporation! I give it 4 "deskpops" out of 5.

Nice job of illuminating financial machinations in an action film and reminding - informing - us of who "they" are and how "they" view us as just the other guys.
