Was afraid the previews had shown all the really funny parts, but not to worry, I laughed all the way through. Sometimes the humor was crude, maybe not middle-school material, but high school and up should be ok. The storyline and action was implausable, but you had to know that going in. There was an underlying theme that felt kind of good - that the plain old schmucks who do the real work day in and day out (most of us if we're honest) can rise to the occasion and be the true heros rather than the flashy headline grabbing celebrity types who don't really deserve the acclaim and eventually crash and burn.

I honestly couldn't remember another movie that made me laugh that hard-- almost constantly. And then a friend mentioned "The Hangover"-- oh yeah!! So if you loved The Hangover you will definitely love "The Other Guys". The movie had some really original comedy sketches that Ferrell, Keaton, Jackson, Wahlberg, and everyone else just really nailed. SILENT FIGHT scene was classic! GO SEE THIS and bring your kids-- teenagers love it too.

So usually you see movie commercials and trailers and you're mostly not surprised in the movie itself because they gave away the only funny parts...THIS MOVIE HAS MUCH MORE! Really I think I laughed throughout the whole movie because each scene was funny in it's own right, but never cry myself laughing. Marky Mark was just as funny if not funnier than Ferrel. If they wouldn't have sewed up the ending so fast, they could have left room for a sequel, but I would watch if another came along anyway...maybe years down the future when they were in different jobs and Wahlberg's character shot another famous person:) Overall NON-STOP laughs!!

Everyone did their part, and did it well. Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell were a perfect match. In fact, I loved all three pairs of cops (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson, Damon Wayons Jr. and Rob Riggle). The action was intense, the comedy was hilarious. It's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but it was brilliantly put together!

the theatre was packed where we went and everyone had a great time laughing which adds so much to the movie experience.
it was exactly what i expected and it was really good to see wahlberg loosen up and make fun of himself a bit. ferrell is a great foil to walhberg's uptight character and the secrets of ferrell's past and the montage to illustrate his history as "gator" are downright sublime as are the current day lapses into his repressed gator self.
keaton, so talented and so good at spontaneous unhinged-ness himself was a great addition to the cast. if you're a keaton fan, you're waiting for him to lose it, which adds to the suspense.
mendes was refreshingly adept at acting and was really quite funny.
i won't see in the theater again, but i will buy it on DVD.

This movie is hilarious!! My husband and I laughed the entire time. Mark and Will were marvelous together! Their personalities are so different in real life and in this movie and for that reason, I think that's why it works so well. You wonder how they can work together and in the end you realize that in all of us there is a silly childish side that we would like to let go and have fun. Looking forward to purchasing it so we can laugh as hard as we want to @ home.

I'm not a big Ferrell fan; but paired with the perfect counterpoint Wahlberg (who was excellent, deadpan funny) there were several laugh-out-loud moments. Not a perfect movie by any means, but well worth admission for a couple of escapist hours.

This movie had some interesting ideas that might have been better suited for a sketch in a show rather than a full blown film.
It is a shame that the rock and Samuel L jackson bowed out so early as they were head and shoulders above Ferrell and Wahlberg.
The film was a mess of ideas, badly executed humour and embarrasing moments.
The 2 scenes worth a mention are when The rock and jackson jump of the building and when Wahlburg meets Ferrell's wife eva Mendes. Steve Coogan's character is pointless and the once high flying Micheal Keaton is under used and could probably have done a better job playing the Ferrell character

Will Ferrell was pretty funny - until he became as repetitious and over the top as the rest of the film. The Sam Jackson/Dwayne Johnson death scene was inventive. The rest of the action seemed like fifty other action films. The plot was confusing - but at least it was irrelevant! Eve Mendes was awesome...but not worth the price of the ticket.

Although the actors are good individually, as they were partnered in this movie, they did not go that well together. The movie was predictable, but what else can you expect from a Will Ferrell movie. Over all I would recommend to watch this movie at the theaters if you can get in for a decent price. If not just wait for it on dvd and rent it.

This is a great date movie. There are a lot of funny parts, mostly very stupid and immature humor, but then again, what humor isn't? It is great for easy laughs, but the actual plot kind of drags on to a certain extent, and the action scenes are kind of lame. Other than that, Will Ferrell and Marky Mark make an absolutely hilarious team that is pretty fun to watch, not to mention Eva Mendes is an absolute dimepiece.

This movie has a completely disjointed script. The writer seemed to be throwing in as many gags and references to other films that he could think of. I'm not the biggest Will Ferrell fan. His routine gets old after a while. His partner in crime, Mark Wahlberg did his best, but was stuck with a one-note performance throughout. I fell asleep during the middle of the movie. My husband and I and our teenager thought it was funny! Laugh out loud! However, we have a 12 year old son and lately we have been testing the waters with PG-13 films. Most have been appropriate for him (besides the occasionally cuss word). This movie; however, was FILLED with numerous cuss words in almost every scene and very explicit sexual conversation during a scene between a grandma and Will Ferrell. NOT recommended for pre-teen.

In the begin was will ferrel and will ferrel is in a movie and that movie was the other guys and well it's funny in that will ferrel way. Look if you expect this movie to blow you away then you are in the wrong mind set. This movie did well, played up to what it was going for. I had my hopesup for this movie to be first funny one of the year but it disappointed. You should just watch the trailer and you will see all the funny parts in the movie. I did enjoy walhberg/ferrel connection but it could not save the disaterous novie.the movie starts to drag on and stupid parts were added just so they could have the sexual aspect. I almost fell asleep many times throughtout. In the first 10 mins it does trick you into thinking it will be enjoyable but don't be fooled, it sucked. I would the $10 I just wasted on it back!

HAHAH This was just hilarious. Mark wahlberg was great in this movie. I was so convinced that he was just an angry pissed of person all the time. The new one-liners are awesome and I plan on using them immediatly. Great movie and very funny!

The actors in this movie should be ashamed. This was the worst 2 hours in a movie I have ever spent. The trailer was funnier than the movie. Ferrell had no funny parts at all, the only time i chuckled was during the Wahlberg/Mendes scene where they meet for the first time. I feel sorry for great actors like Wahlberg, Mendes, Jackson, Keaton and Johnson for having to have made this movie with Ferrell. 0 stars from me.

It's been a pretty bad summer for movies, and we were definitely hoping that this one could deliver. With low expectations, it did quite well. I'd have enjoyed seeing more of Samuel Jackson and The Rock, who'd have been pretty funny foils. However, Ferrell and Wahlberg did not disappoint. Worth seeing, but don't expect one of Ferrell's all-time hits.

Fun movie. A must-see for Ferrell fans. One of those movies that will only get better with countless re-watchings on DVD. I recently saw Dinner for Schmucks and this movie totally blew it away.

I thought this movie was good enough to see, but it had so much trash and funny stuff. It was hilarious though, even though the storyline wasnt the best. It is worth seeing and will ferrell and mark wahlberg did a great job acting.
