I had read the book before I went to see the movie and enjoyed it. I was afriad that when I went to see the movie I would be bored. I was wrong. The movie had a great story line, wonderful actors, plenty of action, and was just a great movie. I am definitely buying it when it comes out. I would highly reccomend this movie to anyone. Kids will like it and adults as well.

Nicholas Cage looks the best he's looked in years in this film. It also looks like he was having fun! The mopping scene made me smile. This is the first movie where I've seen a nerdy kid who talks like Christian Slater act a little bit like Indiana Jones. Alfred Molina is excellent as Maxim Horvath. He is definitely the go-to actor for a comic bad guy. Any movie he is in seems worth seeing just to enjoy his performance. Best stupid term in this film: "The Prime Merlinian"
There's a setup for a sequel, though I'm not sure there's enough steam in the engine to get one moving.

This movie was excellent. The critics on Yahoo gave it a C and that made me kind of leary of going to see it. Once my wife and I were in the theater though, I really looked forward to it. It basically was King Arthur and Merlin set in a contemporary setting. The special effects were fantastic. The storyline was great and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more.

I'll skip the rant and just say that this was a good movie and worth seeing. It had special effects, a wild car chase, and held your attention. Yes there were weak spots such as Jay seemed too wimpy too long, but overall it was fun! And a movie should be fun; that's why we go. So grab the kids and enjoy a predictable but lovable adventure. And watch out for those plasma bolts!

If you go to this movie for any reason other than pure entertainment then you are going for the wrong reasons. The chemistry between the main characters is great. They could have done a bit more on character development, but given the running frame it was great. Excellent production values, special effects which serve the story and do not overwhelm it, a coherent plot, a well done screenplay, and fine performances from the entire cast all combined to make this a nicely entertaining bit of entertainment.
Nick Cage steps ever further afield of his "usual" roles and does a credible job of playing a powerful magic using wizard.
The story moves right along with no real surprises but that was fine enough as it was well done. the "mop scene" is a great bit of homage to the classic that will bring a smile to the face of anyone who's ever seen the scene in Fantasia.
This isn't an epic film but it is very worthwhile entertainment.

It didnt take a lot for me to go see this movie as I love Nicholas Cage, but this movie is incredible, the graphics are phenominal the realization is absolutely stunning, if he doesnt get an Oscar for this one the Academy should resign!!! Five Stars for Movie Content, Action, Realization and Graphics. This movie Rocks ten times better than the last Harry Potter Movie!!

I didn't go to this movie with high expectations, so I wasn't disappointed. Nothing spectacular here; good special effects, average story. Nick Cage was OK, but I wasnt' sure why he was cast in that role. I could think of several better choices. Overall entertaining, but again, nothing great.
