This was another great performance by the Met. This is wonderful way of seeing and learning about opera. The intermission discussion with Placido Domingo are very good. Back for Carmen in a few days!

What a wonderful afternoon at the Met. Four hours fifty minutes flew by. The Strauss' music of course was sublime. The performances were immaculate, even the chorus was perfectly attuned. The sets and the costumes were unbelievably beautiful. The theater experience was like magic, a five hour dream. No home HD TV can top this experience. Bravo to the Met for conceiving this great cultural experience and for offering it in so many locations. I've recommended these Saturday afternoon presentations to all my friends. Always enjoyed the Met broadcasts on the radio when I was growing up... but now aren't we lucky to have this wonderful technology !

As a regular subscriber to the Metropolitan Opera, I went to this viewing as an experiment. I was more than plesantly surprised at the experience. The sound quality was excellent, I enjoyed the performance and loved the backstage interviews. I would highly recommend this experience to any opera lover.

My husband and I saw the movie yesterday. Such a treat ! The singing and acting were amazing, the music is beautiful, the sets and costumes were just lovely. The interviews backstage included Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Susan Graham ( my favorites ) We had two intermissions, right along with the audience at the Met, during which they showed the sets being moved into place for the next act. All in all a thrilling experience for much less than it costs for tickets at the Met itself. I thank the Met and the theatres involved for this magnificent opportunity.

anyone doubting they would enjoy opera at the movies owes it to themselves to go to one of these. They do a beautiful job. Rosenkavalier was great.

This was an excellent production in every way: the conductor (Edo de Waart), the sets, the costumes and the performers. Renée Fleming and Susan Graham gave stellar performances.
I felt sorry for the people wandering around to find an available seat. Some people arrive extremely early and save rows of seats. This is not fair! I don't understand why the performance cannot be shown simultaneously in 2 theatres in the same popular location, or, at a minimum, offer reserved seating.
I was very disappointed that I was unsuccessful in obtaining a ticket for next week's performance of "Carmen" in the 3 locations near my home. I am NOT interested in the encore performances.

This is Grand Opera at its grandest: superb sets, splendid accompaniment, gorgeous singers,who act their parts to perfection. I've never seen a better production of any opera, live or recorded. Live from the Met in HD is the next best thing to attending a performance at the Metropolitan in New York.

This was my first time watching this opera & I was very impressed. I brought 2 friends who have never seen opera & they enjoyed it immensely. The performers were just excellent, the costumes dazzling & the music provided the perfect backdrop. Placido's intermission interviews provided many insights to not only to this opera but also those to follow. The Live at the Met HD venue provides camera shots that are unbelievable. Not just the performers but the orchestra & backstage as well. I'm already looking forward to Carmen next week ... it's SOLD OUT at our theater. The word is spreading fast for this wonderful experience, tell your friends & neighbours. There are still more to come for this year.
