Highly entertaining. This movie only let up long enough for me to catch my breathe. Everyone in the cast got a chance to show off their particular fighting styles which made the fight scenes even more interesting.

I went into this movie thinking it would be pretty awesome, just based on the cast and how ridiculously insane it was. A bunch of dudes from the 80's, mixed with some of today's hot names, but primarily, a bunch of old action stars from the 80's.
I figured it'd be a great movie to take my dad to see, since he's all about Stallone and that era.
We both loved it! Seriously, I'm going to see this movie again. It was incredible. Amazing action. Some funny parts. A good plot, and it kept you on the edge of your seat.
I'm more of a comedy guy myself, think Judd Apatow stuff - but this movie has easily cracked my loose "Top 10." It's definitely worth seeing on the big screen, even if movie ticket prices are getting outrageous.
I had a great time at this movie, I wouldn't leave to go to the bathroom cause I didn't want to miss a minute of it.
An excellent movie and one that I will be buying on DVD the first day it comes out. If you're in your 30's or 20's, make sure you take your dad to see this movie. He will love it, it's the ultimate guy movie.

Lots of explosions, good guys don't get a scratch, excessive gore. Mediocre acting, dumb plot. very hard to employ the necessary suspension of disbelief to enjoy this type of movie. You expect it to be unrealistic, but there is clever and intelegent unrealistic, and there is this dreg. I hate stupid bad guys. In Dark Knight we had the epitome of clever bad guy. In this movie you couldn't wait until someone shot them. If I want to see gore and violence I'll rent Kill Bill or any Torentino movie. Nice plane and bikes and cars though.

The average age of the cast is about 60 but who cares. There is a mix of small mix of humor pitted in with the nonstop action. Every fight scene is intensely coreographed. It is great to see an action film that does rely on special effects to rule the day. Awesome!!!

If you've been looking forward to it, The Expendables delivers everything you would want or expect. It's a perfect throwback to over-the-top '80s action. The story is thin and starts slow, but who cares! Once we get past Mickey Rourke's Inspiring Speech the action never lets up; the bullets, punches, and explosions are flying. But the motivation never gets lost and you actually care if the good guys win, which seems rare these days. See it for Guys' Night.

Let me say first that, Sly Stallone is in impeccable shape for a sixty something! The guy looks better at his age than, well most men. Anyway, I read that the movie grossed $10.8 Billion on opening night and after seeing the movie for myself, I can see why. I'll start with what was bad about the movie...... Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't have large enough roles! Yeah, that's the bad. Expendables gets ramped up right from the beginning and takes us on a ride all the way through to the end....So again 10 Thumbs up!!!

I don't think there is an action movie that my husband and I haven't seen and this one "Expendables" will be at the top of our list for a long time. How wonderful to see all of the great action men in one movie - a sequel is an absolute must!! Age has done nothing but enhance their screen appeal. Nice to see these wonderful men age so gracefully.

"The Expendables" is surprisingly good!! The story is a bit weak and does not go over very well, but the action really makes up for it once it gets going. I expected much more "Old School" action, but there was more CGI used then you would have expected given the actors that are playing in the movie. My only other issue is that Sylvester Stallone's dialogue always sounds like he's mumbling, but other then that I enjoyed seeing the veteran actors go at it. The action is over the top. "The Expendables" are a gang of mercenaries that have been charged with overthrowing a South American dictator who has become a "dish rag" to a Rogue CIA agent. Action Action and more Action. I love the weapons that were used and the plane they flew on was really cool!! Jet Li shows some signs that he still has it, I love Jason Statham and Terry Crews, neither of them takes any prisoners. The movie is very violent and at times very bloody. If you have an even mild interest in seeing "The Expendables" I say go for it.

If you like 80's action movies, you will enjoy this one too. Lots and lots of action, well-choreographed and decently shot. The weak point for me was the bad guy, even though he's good in "Dexter". I would love to see a sequel with Segal, Snipes, Van Damme and Norris. That would be amazing.

Great cast, plenty of noise and action, some pretty good humor in places, almost perfect cameo's, generally an enjoyable movie. Not much of a story line but enough other things going on you don't notice that TOO much. Could've used more character development but difficult to do that with soooo many characters, I suppose. All in all, if you like these actors and you like big-boom-shoot-'em-ups, go see it.

This movie had a great cast of characters and, as expected, tons of action. There were also a few funny scenes that got our whole theater to laugh.
A couple of friends mentioned that they were disappointed when Bruce Willis and the Govenator weren't really in the movie. WARNING: those guys are only in 1 scene. It doesn't hurt the movie, but you should know that they are bit players in this one.

Yep....I think Stallone has come full Circle....from righteous Action hero , to Righteous movie director....and still....in his 60's Totally righteous action hero. This movie with its all star cast, delivered from beginning to end. The fight sequences and battle scenes were very well put together, and there wasnt a sector of the movie that left you feeling like you were wasting your time. What a great all star cast... Yes, some of these actors passed their prime long ago. However, they have once again brought forth a great movie. Great affects and story line. Can't wait for the DVD!!

This movie was loaded with action and very entertaining. Yes, it was high on testosterone & there is no way these guys could do this stuff in real life and not get a scratch, but who cares.....it's a movie. There was humor and my favorite scenes- the scene with Arnold and Bruce, and the scene with Jason Statham and the guys playing basketball. I saw this movie with my husband mainly because he wanted to see it, but I was glad I did. I think if the movie does well, we might see a part 2.

Simple-minded plot -- no thinking needed. just sit back and watch people get slaughtered and things blown up. Great! When the guy brought out the automatic shotgun, the theater crowd started cheering. Hehehehe.

It's an old school 80s action movie that's super entertaining. I'm 41 so I grew up watching these guys. It was cool seeing them together. However, it's just action so don't expect any depth or feelings. Just for guys so leave the girls at home.
