I saw the movie with great expatiations but I must say that I was a little let down. I was worried how the story could be told in such a short amount of time and I hoped for a strong ending but there was not one The overall story was great but it left a lot to your imagination. Going from such a heavy point in the movie to a daydream almost made the movie hard to completely grasp. While understanding that the things that she faced could not be drawn out completely I just wished that some of the things were made clear and not left to the views imagination. Good movie. I do recommend others to see it for themselves but I want to read the book to get a complete understanding of how her story ended in complete detail.

I really loved the way this movie tied in its characters. The cast was authentic and a pleasure to watch despite the depressive nature of the story. In the end, I left feeling touched and inspired as well as deeply saddened. Also, I am happy to see that a story like this can be told on the big screen. On a side note, I cannot understand why anyone would take young children to this movie. I was very uncomfortable knowing there were children in the audience, but that is a parenting issue not a reflection on the movie.

I went into the movie thinking that this project was carfefully thought out for the hour and 49 minutes I wasted. It could of went 2.5 hours if the ending was worth waiting for. Overall I liked the movie, an appropriate amount of ups and downs. However, I would not recommend you take your children to see this movie. I would say that the movie ended abrubtly, no ending really, it leaves you wondering if she was successful, if she ever married, if she ever forgave her mother, etc . . . . I'd view this as an afterschool show or something that belongs on Lifetime.

I think the movie was a little less that good, but better than ok. I wanted more explaination or more detail on some parts. If my friend had not read the book and had advised me of specific details, I would have been lost. I was disappointed I paid to see this movie. I didn't need to go see Precious to know abuse happens. It happens everyday. There were so many loose ends to this movie. I was also upset I took my two daughters. The dialect was too graphic for children, I think even some teenagers.

This movie was awesome! It was very raw but real. Although I've never experienced abuse like this in my life, I felt the emotions Precious went through just watching it! It brought tears to my eyes to know that there is someone that is going through this type of abuse right now. So I'm glad that this movie was made to make people more aware and more compassionate towards others that have been or going through this type of situation. I give Lee Daniels 10 stars for doing a fantastic job!

This is most likely the movie to watch this year. A movie about a character that although life has handed her the short (and by short I mean short) of the stick she is focused on succeeding in life. Having read the book a couple of years back, I would have to say that I found the movie to be missing a lot of things I feel were of importance. Awesome movie. Content of the movie would be hard for a young person to really understand and the language is a bit raw, therefore I would say it is inappropriate for kids under 16. There were some very intense scenes between Gabby and Monique. They definitely got into their roles. Wish the ending would have been more indepth, like whatever happens to Precious and her kids. I found myself wanting to see Precious have a wonderful life, which she deserves after all she has endured. Overall I give it a thumbs up.

This movie was everything that I expected, with some real honest characters and performances. The fact that I know people who can relate to Precious' story was enough for this film to hit home! The cast was great, but I really appreciate Monique, Gabby, and Paula's characters. Paula Patton played the kind of teacher that so many of our at risk young girls need to be exposed to; approachable, caring and realistic.

I loved this movie. It speaks to everyone not just the african american homes but homes across the world. Abuse on childern from family members is the most common yet most unreported. this movie should give many people wake up calls. the abused to help them get out of the situation, and to let them know there is hope and help out there. the abusers to let them see themselves for what they really are.
