Having read the book a couple of years back, I would have to say that I found the movie to be missing a lot of things I feel were of importance. I understand Hollywood may have felt to go the full mile could have possibly thrown viewers with its heavy content. Even though some heavy stuff was shown it doesnt compare to the things that the book opened its readers to and I am slightly disappointed.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
