Great movie for adults and teens, but not for children. You don't need to read the book, first, to appreciate the movie. The characters are believeable from the opening scene to the end of the movie. The theater lobby was full of the sound of people talking about this movie on their way to the exit doors. I will definitely see it again.

I read the book "Push" before seeing the movie so that helped to fill in a lot of the blanks. Mo'nique & Mariah both surprised me with their exceptional performance in a dramatic role . Lenny Kravitz was the icing on the cake and I hope to see more of him as an actor in the future. If this movie doesn't make you feel anything then you must be dead!! Precious is, in my opinion, the best movie of 2009.

I lliked everthing about this movie, the plot, the actors, the effects all came together to provide a good entertaining moment. The previews looked so great on TV but the actual movie is off the star scale!! The events in this movie are all true events that happen to ppl everyday. Some ppl I know commented that why would would they put such items in a movie and they can't believe it happend, or they did to much in the movie b/c she was just a child but where I saw the movie is not where I am originally from. I saw it in Seattle, WA. but I am born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I see things like that everyday and some I have went through myself and to see it on the big screen and relate to it, mkae me feel like wow, it's about time there's something out there that's real! I think the movie was very good. It makes you remember that there are things like this going on in this world. It also helps us to remember how lucky we are & things are not as bad as it seems. How compelling it is to face "people of the lie". How traumatic it is to face the harsh reality that we must remove ourselves and walk completely away from family or friends that should love and protect us, but seek to destroy our well-being. I have friends in my life who have survived similar violations and tragedy. I applaud "Precious" for all it will do to provoke conversation in our community. Hopefully, it will move us to take action to address HIV/AIDS--as you never know --until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes.

This movie was great. I tells of real life events and how strong a person can become even when they are being put down by those who are supposed to love them the most. It had me in tears but was very glad at the end that the character was up lifted and never gave up on life.

Excellent movie! Makes you wonder how many individuals today are slipping through the cracks and what are we doing to help these individual PUSH pass the circumstances and barriers in their lives.
Despite her circumstances, Precious Jones sees the light at the end of the tunnel and has the strength to push pass everyone and everything that has failed her. She still has hope.
