The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was to me the best book in the series. Did that necessarily translate on screen? Not exactly. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Twihard fan, just like 98% of the people who saw this movie, I'm just not sure that it lived up to the expectations that I had.
Overall, the movie was great. But when you begin to break it down piece by piece, that's when you notice the flaws. The production set for this movie was great. They continued to use the previous homes established in Twilight, especially the Cullen home. The script...eh, not so good. Some of the lines in this movie are extremely corny, especially those coming from Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Any screenwriter has a difficult task, but I wish Rosenberg was a tad bit better... I mean reading the book, Bella is not confused about her feelings for Jacob until they kiss. The entire movie, it felt as if she were playing Edward, and making him watch her go have fun with Jacob....maybe that's just the way it came off to me. (You can tell I'm definitely Team Edward =])
Acting wise, Edward (Pattinson) is my favorite in this movie, and throughout the first two. Bella (Stewart) also does a great job in bringing an awkward teenager to the screen.
THE ACTION WAS AMAZING...unfortunately it was like 2 mins of the movie =/
Like I said, it was a good movie. The best movie of the series? No. Will I see it again? Yes. Will I buy it when it comes out? Yes. Why? Because I love Stephenie Meyer, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson. Taylor Lautner isn't bad either...

The movie was good overall but because i'm a bigger fan of the books i was able to pickout all the editing mistakes. i didn't expect them to follow the book verbatim because of thier size but switching charater lines through it off for me....fight scenes were great probably the best part of the movie....can't wait to see how the others get re-written but i anticipate disappointment

If this were the last of the series, it would be a great way for the Twilight series to go out. Too bad the powers that be didn't choose to end the series with a wrap up at the end of Eclipse because I can only imagine - having read all the books - that the next will be a disappointment in comparison to this movie.
Eclipse [the movie] did a nice job of presenting the main themes of Eclipse [the book] - the love triangle between Bella, Edward, & Jacob and the alliance between the Cullen vampires & the Quilite wolves. Unfortunately, not enough information was given to understand the politics concerning the Volturi's presence in the movie. It would seem completely random to the fan who hasn't read the books.
All that said, Eclipse was a great ride and much of the fun was seeing it in a packed theater filled with serious Twilight fans. Everyone in the theater cheered for their favorite characters & scenes. Some of the best lines were given to Jacob's character. In particular, in the scene when Edward realizes that he'll have to rely on Jacob's unnatural body heat to keep Bella alive during a freak snowstorm, Jacob replies, "Let's face it, I'm hotter than you." The crowd screamed. ;-)

Saw it opening day and then 2 days later as well!!! I love all of the movies, but I think I enjoyed this one the best. Loved the action and the romance was so much better!!

I used to be a Twilight fan until the movies came out. All the hype about made me rather disgusted with the whole thing.
I thought the first movie had potential, but was rather dry. The second movie was horrible. This movie was better than the first two and was entertaining, but none of the "evil vampires" seemed very threatening, especially Victoria. It was a huge makeup fest, and it looked like some 6th graders had too much fun with the black eyeliner.
All that aside, the dialogue flowed smoothly, and each character puts forth their best.
Diehard Twilight fans will go crazy, but people like me will will wait for Harry Potter.

I looked forward to Eclipse for several months; I was not disappointed in the movie. I reread the book before seeing the movie and I think it followed the book fairly well. Some details left out, but length of movie prohibits exact remake of book. Can't wait for "Breaking Dawn". I hope it will be divided into two movies as it covers a vast amount of story and events.

I haven't read any of the Twilight Saga books but I loved the 1st movie, Twilight, and I loved New Moon even more, so of course I was going to see Eclipse and it was so good!!! I was on Team Edward going in and coming out the theatre I was on Team Jacob!!! I Oh, and the special effects were of higher quality than the Twilight Saga's past two movies. I would definitely recomend this movie to anyone, even if they haven't read the books!

I am a HUGE fan of all things Twilight. I have read all the books and seen all the movies. I have by far better enjoyed the books simply because of all the detail involved, but recognize the need to edit based on time constraints. I believe they have done a great job with the movie series and I am a big fan of all the actors they chose to play the various roles with the exception of the new Victoria. They made a gigantic mistake in replacing the original, but other than that I thought it was fabulous and the best of the series so far. Breaking Dawn was my favorite book, so I am much anticipating the movie.

The anticipation was well worth it. Loved the way everything played out, although the books are always better because they can spare no details. The movie cannot contain everything the books do because there is a time limit. I loved the interactions back and forth between Jacob and Edward. My husband and I both agree that Eclipse is the best one by far. BTW, Bella seems to be looking better in this book, with her hair done nicer than the first two movies.

My wife has read all the books, but she has a habit of nodding off during movies. I haven't read any of the books, so I see the films without any preconceptions. She nodded off for a little bit, but was happy with the film. For the women, it is a romance movie. For guys, it has vampires vs. werewolves. What more could you ask for? Enjoy!

I went with a group friends to see the movie and it was great. I love that each movie has had a different Director. I think you can really see how far the saga has come. The close ups and the wolf effects were great. It didn't have a few things I would have liked to see from the book but this ''to me'' has been the best one so far. I can't wait for the next!!

I am always disappointed when i see a movie after i have read the book. But the directors of the twilight saga have done a very good job in bringing the books to life on the big screen. I was very pleased with the way they included all the individual stories into the main story in Eclipse. Eclipse was very good, will definitely see it more than once. Bummed about having to wait so long for part 1 of Breaking Dawn.

I absolutely LOVED this movie and would recommend it to everyone. I've already seen it twice, once in IMAX and once at the normal theater, and plan to go see it again. Definitely the best of the 3 and I can't wait for Breaking Dawn. I even got my best friend hooked, and she had never seen the previous 2 movies before, now she's chomping at the bit for the next one just like me.

For each movie release I've been reading the book and then seeing the movie. I am looking forward to starting Breaking Dawn now that I've seen Eclipse. With the exception of a variation at the ending I thought it was very similar to the book and I enjoyed it very much. It really gave a lot more insight to Edwards and Jacobs characters. I even know a few people who crossed over from Team Edward to Team Jacob after seeing this movie. I would call it a must see.

The movie was a bit choppy I thought. It seemed to put parts from the book out of order, and didn't flow as nicely as the book did. I did like seeing more of the dark side of things...the volturi and the newborns, but I miss the flow of the book and the subtle humor in the interaction between the characters. It has some AMAZING CGI effects and was really good at action in parts, but again choppy and just not completely fulfilling what I wanted from reading the book. The romance....HOT HOT HOT! The way that Robert and Kristen portray Edward and Bella is perfect! The intensity they have onscreen truly does the characters justice and for that I do recommend this movie to any twihard fan! :o)

I have seen the movie on reg screen and IMAX..I think for the fight scenes and chases the reg. screen is better...but still enjoyed trying th IMAX experience...Jasper was the Best ACTOR in the movie...When given the lines he does NOT disappoint and I feel Bella's part was even better then the 1st two movies...Kristen and Jackson shoule get the "honors" of best acting for this movie...Don't get me wrong...I love Rob & Taylor, but the other two stole the show!!!!!!

I went with my girlfriend, 2 daughters and thier friends. All female except me. I went because the first reviews I heard said that guys would like this movie also. They were totally wrong. I dont know of any that liked it. The women loved it but there was nothing there for me or those like me. I will schedule an appointment to have my finger nails pulled out before I go to another. I also thought it was too sexually advanced for my 12 and 13 year old daughters. I gave it 2 stars because the women like it.

It was sort of disappointing... the book was much better. It definitely was not the best of the three so far. It was good to watch once, but I won't be running back to the theater to see it again like the last one.

I loved the movie, have seen it twice since the 12:01am opening, but would have loved to have seen more of the book in it. I love the chemistry between Edward and Bella.
