I loved the movie. it didn't keep word for word with the book but i didn't expect it to. It had humor and romance and action. I, however, do not reccomend this movie for younger audiences. I saw a lot of small kids at this movie but it has mature themes. I will watch it over and over and i recomend it to any MATURE audience.

After seeing Twilight (#1) and being incredibly disappointed with the constant dark and mopey atmosphere that surrounded the entire movie, I was pleasantly surprised when New Moon was significantly better. However, I can honestly say that Eclipse is at least three times better than either Twilight OR New Moon. The actors have finally become comfortable enough with each other that K Stew and R Patt are no longer extremely awkward and anxious around each other (as it seemed in the last two movies) and Taylor Lautner really nailed his part as Jacob (much more believable than New Moon). I felt that they kept almost all of the important parts from the book in the movie, with a few details left out. Still, the scene in the tent when Jacob and Edward are hiding Bella from Victoria really struck me as the best scene in the whole movie. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has read the books, although I will say it was more violent than the previous movies, so parents be forewarned if your young daughters are begging you to go see it.

If the corn of the first 2 didn't keep you from waiting in line till midnite, you'll adore Eclipse! Best of 3....and not because it's the best loved book...it's the best made film. Slade finally aces it. Visually phenomenal! Softer focus on close-ups made the boys look more beautiful. Edward is more endearing than ever. Slade got Rpattz & Lautner to stretch their acting muscles (no pun, Jacob fans) and it payed off. The tent & bed scenes were spot on! I don't know how Pattinson struck such emotion w/o shedding tears (vamps can't). Plenty of spit swapping for hormonal fans. You can't help loving the wolves, especially the skinny, skittish Seth. What I hated: 1. THE WIGS: Thankfully, Ed, Jake, Charlie, Em, the Pack and Forks kids had their own locks....everyone else sported distracting hair hats. 2. THE EYES: With day-glow yellow irises, how in hell could the Cullens ever pass as anything other than space aliens, toxic waste exposure victims or monsters? Twilight, though cringeworthy in so many ways, had understated cotacts that still worked. I hope they pull those out of storage for BD! 3. THE SCORE: Uninspired. Made-for-tv. Jacob's theme is like listening to a 5yr. old playing scales on the piano. Where Desplat (New Moon) did well playing up the romance, Burwell (Twilight) nailed the edgy intensity. Please God, let the next director pick James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, etc.) or someone like him. 4. VICTORIA: Bryce was pathetically non-mencing. Snow White meets Medusa. Her only semi-scary moment was her teeth-baring snarl prior to her demise. 5. SONG PLACEMENT: Awkward. The soundtrack is great, but only 2 songs (fight training and bed scene) were placed appropriately. I did love that they snuck in Claire De Lune. Sweet & nostaligic. Oh, Edward! All said, Eclipse was a satisfying, thrilling expeience and I'm planning to see it again soon. Thanx, Mr. Slade!

This movie was absolutely ridiculous.
I still don't understand the whole appeal of the series. A whiny, obsessives teen wants to become a vampire. Though she has a family that loves her, friends who accept her, and is free to roam about life as she wishes, she still feels like as if no one understands her and needs to change herself. Why? It does not make any sense.
She spent the entirety of "New Moon" wishing for Edward to come back and scoop her into his arms, and in this film when that wish has come true all she does is push him away. Why? Because there is this other teen, Jocab, who obviously loves her based on his threats of killing her if she doesn't love him too. Oh, and he's a werewolf; might as well get all the cliches out of the way now.
Edward pouts, Jacob snarls, Bella can't act. This movie was nothing but a teen triangle about a loose chick and two guys who want to save her for some reason I cannot fathom. Which brings me to my next question: what is so special about her? Is there a reason she must be saved? Or have these two, yes i will admit it, attractive males just hit rock bottom and settled? She doesn't seem to be very nice to either of them; leading them by their nether regions, even on the verge of raping Edward who, in a class act, wants to wait until marriage. In this day and age women should be swooning over a man like that. Bella complains and moans about it.
Women, and some men, will leave the theater wishing for a life portrayed in the cinema, and this movie makes me scared for the generation that follows the films with some eager enthusiasm. This was garbage, nothing more than a woman who wants someone, anyone apparently, in her pants and to become a vampire because she is so spoiled she cannot think of anything else she could possibly want. Vampires and werewolves aside, there was absolutely nothing realistic about this film. The most believable character was Bella's wig, but even then i still felt it to be overpaid.

Eclipse definitely lived up to the hype!!!! Even though the movie was out of sequence with the book, it still captured the essence of the book. All the important details were where they should have been. I can't wait for Breaking Dawn!!!! BTW, I will definitely use movietickets.com again; I didn't have to wait in a looooooooong line to purchase my tickets.

I am happy that I saw this movie's opening at 12:01 am! THe movie delivers especially in terms of action sequences. The werewolves and vampires fight sequences were great. What fell short for me, was the ending when jacob was injured. Overall, this movie is great and I would watch this again

I thought that David Slade did a very good job bringing more emotion to this film then the two previous Twilight movies. I was disappointed that the bedroom scene didn't show Edward breaking the bed post to show how hard he had to work to keep from hurting Bella every time they touched. The entire movie was great and I am going to see it again.

I loved it. Being at the midnight showing made it even better. Seeing everybody in line made me appreciate the movie even more, knowing all these hundreds of people were here to support the movie.

Actors have not matured with character. Jackson Rathbone performance was a pleasant surprise. Tent scene was inadequate when compared to book and the fact that they did a re shoot (very disappointing). Have to believe Breaking Dawn will be better???? Was a twi fan however no longer true.

This was an excellent movie! Eclipse stayed truer to the book than Twilight and New Moon. I really enjoyed the characters' back stories being highlighted. The special effects were phenomenal!!! Best one of the series for me!!!

I never read the books but the movies are the best. Each one keeps you wanting more. This was the best one out of the 3, but they are all great. It was loaded with action and romance. I hope the author keeps writing more books because I never want it to end. If you never seen any of the movies go see Eclipse and I bet you will want to see the rest of them.

i have not read the books, so i am relying on the movies to tell the story and keep me entertained. i would not consider myself a twlight freak. i would have to say that the 2nd movie was the best so far. this one was good, but i felt like i missed something and i was setting there the whole time! my friend who has read the books was like "oh thats's because this happened.... " i also felt kinda soap oper-y like they were recapping from the last and setting up for the next... like , ok we sucked them in , they will pay to see this one no matter what. and "they" were right. this was like a stepping stone for the next one . so yeah, ya gotta see it..... if you are commited to the saga.
