Eclipse was better than Twilight and New Moon, but I would only recommend this movie if you're a fan. There's nothing to hold the interest of anyone who isn't already interested in Meyer's books.

If I hadn't read the book, the movie would have been much better.
As it is, there was much that was left out that I considered to be crucial to the story. It will be interesting to see how the next one fill the holes left from this one.

Ignoring what I know from the book, taken by itself the movie was good, but perhaps not quite emotional enough. It was difficult to really connect with the characters, much more so than the previous movies of this series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
