This is by far the best action movie I have seen in a while. The special effects and fight scenes were wonderful. The whole idea of Inception is also exhilarating. However, the movie (despite it's 2 1/2 hrs) lacked in character development with every character besides DiCaprio. The character's relationships with each other were rushed and unclear. All in all- this movie is an awesome thriller, as long as you overlook the holes in development.

I enjoyed the movie, and I don't regret going to see it, but its reputation as the movie of the century, deserving multiple viewings is over-rated. The story is too long, gets repetitive and although it weaves together elements of other successful movies, it doesn't do it in a memorable way. There are elements I recall as being striking, impressive and memorable when they appeared in movies such as the Matrix, What Dreams May Come, Event Horizon, Brainstorm and several others, but the mix here is sort of clumsy and second-rate. If you never saw those movies, this one will sizzle your mind; if you have seen them, you will probably feel as I do: Nice Effort, but not a classic. Also, it gets to be a bit much when a college girl takes the lead, showing hardened pioneer veterans the pathway through their own area of expertise. I might not feel that way if I were 20 years old, she would seem like "us", but to me, it just blows the suspension of disbelief you need to enjoy a premise this out-there in the first place. Bottom line-- worth seeing, but it isn't going to change your life unless you are new to this genre.

The revies are correct - well acted and a storyline that you haven't seen before. What I liked most is they kept the concept simple so that you could get into the story of the main character (DiCaprio). Sci-Fi people will love it, drama people will love it, intellectuals will love it. Very well done. Love Christopher Nolan's work; it is top knotch.

Inception was one of the best movies I've seen since The Departed. Nolan really hit hard on all components of a 5 star movie: carefully crafted script, great acting, spectacular special effects and a concept I actually cared about. This movie is a must see. In its second week at the box office, the theater was still packed. Story line was very orginal and creative. Combined with amazing acting this movie pretty much has it all. Visually great, well acted, great story. Somehow I can't describe it without thinking of the matrix, but in no way does it seem like a rip-off of the matrix. It could be described as a dramatic version of the concept the matrix uses. It has a classic final scene. All in all it's a really great movie.

Visually stunning with good transitions and superior editing, the work suffers from a pedestrian script and journeyman acting from a fine cast. Christopher Nolan doesen't give the actors enough room to to fully develop their characters. There are way too many holes in the storyline, and it lacks any true unity.

Imagine a movie that makes you feel like you are IN the 'MATRIX'. Nolan is a genuine filmmaker. The intricate plot line had no holes in it, but the movie left a few questions unanswered and urges the viewer to draw his own conclusions. In my opinion this is the only type of film that matters. DeCaprio has come a long way as an actor and carries his character very naturally. Paige's understated performance was the perfect counterbalance. The supporting cast was also excellent and you actually cared about what happens to them throughout. The special effects serve the script, and although mind bending at times, are not out of place. However you must remain focused. All of the dialogue is important to the story and even then, you may have to bring a buddy along that can help you think through some ideas after the viewing. All told the director has found a way to seamlessly create a movie that is cerebral AND action packed.

This movie tries too hard to achieve a mind bending effect. Certainly, it IS complex, but it is too complex. That doesn't mean it is difficult to understand; it's just that after a certain point of having your mind jerked around, you start to think, "enough already with the sci fi concept and develop some TENSION." There is no at-the-edge-of-your-seat quality to this film which left me feeling plain ol' bored! A good editor would have helped. (Note the movie is two and a half hours long).

Inception is a challenging, mind bending ride! I saw it in a D BOX seat which did not add anything to the experience. The motion of the seat was a bit of a distraction to the plot of the movie. I love that this movie was both escapism entertainment while also being thought provoking and allowing the viewer to draw their own conclusions. It appeals to almost all audiences - thriller fans, action movie buffs, and special effects science "techies". As usual, Leo delivered a great performance with amazing depth to his character. Ellen Page was not entirely believable in her role, but did not detract from the development of the story. I highly recommend this movie for its complicated plot and its mass appeal and "watchability".

So many of the sequences flashed back repeatedly and stretched out so long I was soon impatient. Another reviewer said they were looking at their watch in the last hour, I started after the first 20 minutes. I didn't care about the characters, the plot was absurd and it took too long to play out. That's MY opinion. Why 4 stars? Because while I was busy hating (not too strong a word for what I felt about it) it, I was also critiquing it. The writing was tight, not overblown, the acting superb, even the action sequences were done well. I couldn't tell this story in a shorter amount of time and include all it's nuances. It's probably a very good movie that I just don't like.

One of the best that I've seen in a long time; it kept me on the edge of my seat, kept me fully engaged and anticipating through the whole movie. You don't see many action movies that make you think about what every sequence means and where it could go from here. I will definitely watch it again when it comes out on dvd; probably will add to my collection

Grrreat movie! You REALLY have to pay attn tho! I will definitely rent it to watch it agn to see all the things I missed! But if you just sit, watch & enjoy - and just let it wash over you, you can eventually figure things out enough to really enjoy the experience. Don't overanalyze - there's no time!

Great movie. you might get bored if you're not into thinking too much and just like to see something to have fun. there are lots of deep meanings in this movie and it requires paying really close attention or you may be totally confused when you leave the theater. the main idea is about how human mind is capable of creating real-feeling things inside a dream, that it might be even possible for you to forget that it was a dream in the first place, and they use this to get into people's minds, as a job to collect important information. i wont tell you more, go watch it!

I thought that this movie was excellent. I really thought that I would be completley confused through the whole movie. It was completley opposite. The movie kept you on the edge of your seat and had so many exciting twists and turns. I would recomend this movie to anyone who loves action movies but also ones who love mysteries too.
