Inception was one of the best movies I've seen since The Departed. Nolan really hit hard on all components of a 5 star movie: carefully crafted script, great acting, spectacular special effects and a concept I actually cared about. Would highly recommend this movie to folks who are bored with part IIs, novel/comic book remakes and thoughtless action flicks. It was excellent.

My boyfriend and I were super excited to see the movie based on the teaser spots we saw late last year. He insisted on going opening day so we did and sat through almost 3hrs of the most self-indulgent, over-wrought, confused and frankly ridiculous movie I've ever seen. I probably wouldn't be so negative if the movie didn't consume 3hrs and if it didn't try to tackle some truly relevant and deep questions about human nature. The only thing that saved it from 1 star was the truly outstanding special effects.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
