This was my family’s first trip to an IMAX Theatre. It was a very good movie and the IMAX Experience added to the effects. My wife enjoyed it so much; she was one of the people at the end that clapped at the end of the movie.
My kids want to know when are going back to watch another IMAX Movie.

Awesome! What a ride! We will never see a movie not in 3D again. How to Train Your Dragon is an excellent story; we were so into the movie we actually forgot that it is animated. A definite thumbs-up and 5 stars all the way!

DreamWorks just can't seem to get it just right. They use adults to voice kids. They use 2D camera tricks, like making the foreground or background out of focus. Life is not that way and it spoils the reality of 3D. Too many gotcha moments, like a spear coming out of the screen at you. I guess they didn't want to spend the money to make it extraordinary. Its a kids film with all the touching moments meant to warm your hearts. Not that bad, just not that good.

My 22-year-old daughter and I saw this movie today and we got a totally unexpected emotional experience!!! An absolutely wonderful movie - the end (so unexpected) left me with a knot in my chest and a lump in my throat. I thought it was an absolutely fantastic movie for both young people (age 7 and up) and adults. A very wonderful message at the end - I loved it! This will be a definite addition to the movie library at our home.

I took my grand kids (aged 9 and 10) to see this movie and we gave it a standing ovation at the end. It was a very sweet story with a lesson that you should not ever judge anyone or anything by its appearance because that never gives you a glimpse of the heart or soul. We saw the IMAX 3D version, and that was pretty cool, too, although not as much beauty as we saw in Avatar. But, the scenes where Hiccup is riding the Dragon (Toothless) made you feel like you were actually ON the ride too! Great movie, great theme, great lesson!

This movie not only was a fabulous animated movie but had a subtle message at the end of the movie that you were not expecting. My 5 and 7 year old granddaughters LOVED it, as did myself and my husband. Dont know between the 4 of us, who enjoyed it more. Wonderful story that touched our heart!!!

Great movie.
I went to a matinee and the 3D was the same price as 2D. Based on some recent 3D movies, the 3D in this one wasn't up to par. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for it, as there weren't many effects that utilized the 3D. I recommend skipping the 3D for the extra cost.

First time I have seen a movie at an IMAX and I have to say it was incredible, the 3D effects were also fun. I can't say I'll pay the price to go back very often though. As for the movie, it was funny, exciting, good storyline. Also clean and good for the family. Perhaps too scary for the little ones. I would definitely like to get this on DVD when it comes out, and we do not buy many movies.

Viewed in Imax 3D. Movie was fun and took you back to being a kid and reminded you exactly how enjoyable a good movie is! Storyline to humour was just absolutely perfect! I will purchase it as soon as it becomes available on Blu-ray.
