I didn't know what to expect from watching the trailers for this movie, but my mom wanted to go, so I went too. We got into the theater and once the humans arrive on Pandora, it was as if I was there too. The effects were amazing, the storyline thoughtful, the characters realistic. Definitely one of James Cameron's best pieces!

I have to say, this movie did not fill up to my expectations with the context but the art was, breathtaking! I swear it was so realistic it almost seemed like the creatures could be real!
The movie was really slow at first, pretty boring, but then it got progressively better. Towards the end, wow. I didn't breathe towards the end! It was superb!
Though the movie was a drag at first, the ending made up for it! :) I promise

The story is engaging, the acting is done extremely well and the animation was beyond compare. After thirty seconds I was no longer aware that the characters were CGI. The scenery and backgrounds are well suited to the IMAX and 3D formats.
Everything associated with the film was done with the highest quality. Great Flick for preteens and older.

The movie did not have much complicated story line but it was based on single line story with moral . The moral was war and greed never gives better results, Mother earth have lot of resourceses for human , so that he can remain human but becoing a part of nature . Do not get addicted to machines rather get addicted to nature.

Great movie in IMAX 3D! Amazing visuals. Good story. Lessons for the future. Did not like the ending, it was too neat and tidy. Did not like the message of the movie.

This was the first time i have experienced a 3D/imax movie and OMG...it was awesome!!!!! I will go back for more!!!! All i have done since i saw it was tell everyone i know. I am planning on taking my youngest son to see it!!! Can't wait cause he is going to love it!!!!

This story line is finished before it gets started. We remember the end as soon as we realize the setting, since the writing is so trite, it's a fairy tale that can be told in 30 minutes - and what grownup 70's buff wouldn't like psychedellic forest scenes with ignorance promoted as bravery? Why bother with all those old fashioned space ships & army battalion fighting, when 150 yrs from now, lazer, tazers and more sophisticated methods would surely ensue? The only spectacular thing about this movie is how so many people are nostalgic about Schwartzenegger style impossible flights & fights with a hero that can be transferred into another body?! OK it's pretty, but... where's the substance??

Good movie. This movie (the storyline) has elements from the following other movies: Dances with Wolves, Lord of the Rings, Aliens, Gorillas in the Mist and the game World of Warcraft (the zone Nagrand in Outland specifically). Make sure you go early to get a good seat, they fill up really fast, buy the tickets in advance. Fun to watch, great special effects, good editing. Powerful message and a sad story, directed at those who refuse to learn from the past.

This movie has everything - an excellent (and historically relevant) plot, very good acting, and incredible CGI. The CGI characters are so real that they virtually become actors in their own right, worthy of autographs and Hollywood recognition. Pandora is now on my "bucket list' of vacation spots - LOL!

The story was actually really good, not necessarily my type of movie, but really enjoyable. The sound was incredible and the visuals were out of this world. While the 3d isn't the gimmicky things flying toward you, it was very impressive. I think this will be one of those films that will always be remembered.

I went into the film not expecting much. I like fantasy/action films a lot, but the trailer didn't seem to intrigue me. But once I sat down the movie just kept getting better and better. The action was never-ending and the landscapes were majestic. I loved the story and the very human portrayal of the na'vi. I didn't want the movie to end. Overall - fantastic.

The 3D version of this movie is absolutely amazing. It does far more than your average cheesy museum film, which goes for more of a wow factor. This movie uses 3D to make it feel like you're there.

Kudos - the entire production crew!
The concept, the settings (creation), th eplot - typical American arrogance and wanton destruction in acquiring its goals, the cast, the acting, the technology. a message to the greedy, the packaging was all perfect.
Although the expectations from IMAX 3D (AMC Potomac, Woodbridge, VA) - just a larger screen (I have not seen the movie in regular 3D) left me wanting for a better product.
I want to watch the movie all over again to absorb the movie.

I wasn't sure what to expect when going to this movie. But, when all is said and done, it was awesome, we hope to be able to see it again. The hours that must of gone into creating all those interesting creatures. The story itself reflects stories taken from history, from this continent and others as well.

This was an amazing movie!!! 1 of the best movies I've seen at the theater. Seeing it in IMAX 3D was definitely the best decision I could have made. I saw the midnight screening and stayed up the whole time. Everyone should see it!!!!

Similar to the groundbreaking filming of Kubrick's "2001 - A Space Odyssey", Avatar is visually and sound wise a stunning film -- that quite apart from the plot & message, make the film well worth 2hrs & 40 minutes of your time, particularly if you see it in IMAX 3D. The high-tech glasses were a nuisance to wear (over my own glasses), but I guess that's the price to pay for a phenomenal 3D experience given the current state of the art. The acting of the "real" actors & the animated characters was great (I'm 55 and have always been a S. Weaver fan from "Alien" days). The plot & message were classic Sci-Fi, and brought a tear or two to some in the audience & a fair number of loud rejoicing yells during the battle scenes from others!

Avatar is a feast for the eyes and well worth seeing to experience the amazing world James Cameron and his army of technicians have created. The problem is it's also a famine for the mind. The plot is hackneyed and totally predictable. The characters are one-dimensional.

The IMAX 3D experience was much better than expected. Most scenes appeared as if I was standing right in the middle of the action. Avatar is a good movie but when combined with the IMAX 3D, it was incredible. I'm going to see it again in IMAX 3D!

I watched with a friend last night second time, this movie still made me tearing, what a great movie ever made, thanks to the talented movie makers !
when we left the theater in the midnight, we still saw long lines outside, I almost wanted to tell those people that it is really worth the waiting..
