Avatar was a great story, well filmed and so very beautiful. Cameron gave strength to not just the male characters but the female ones as well, and I love that. This film brought out many different emotions in me...happy, sad, angry...and now I can not wait to be able to see it again!

There are few movie experiences that stand out above all others and this is one of them. From the moment it appears on the screen, you are pulled into their world. By the end of the movie, you don't want to leave.
I knew nothing of the story when I got in and I will not say anything to reveal it to others who might be the same. Suffice it to say, the effects are spectacular, but take away the big screen and the 3D glasses and you are still left with an amazing work of graphic art with a compelling story.
I know understand why it's take James Cameron so long to come out with a movie since Titanic. Not only did he Direct and Produce, but he wrote it. My hat is off to him. This is his Rosebud.

Truly an impressive film! I would recommend it highly. One of the few films I've seen at the theater where I didn't feel like I paid too much to see it there. My first IMAX 3D movie...definitely adds to the experience!

This movie took my breath away. If you take the movie for what it is and don’t try analyzing it to death, the movie is absolutely spectacular. I loved the story line and the special effects were fantastic. The IMAX 3D experience made it all the better. You didn’t feel like you were watching a movie. It was great!

It would be hard for a movie to get more values wrong than this one. It reduces God to a tree, and teaches the worship of nature, as if the creation was greater than its Creator. This worship of nature is in fact idolatry, and strictly forbidden by God in the first of the Ten Commandments (Deut. 5:7). Having no fear of God, the movie then does not hesitate to trash our military during a time of war. The plot holes are stupefying. At the end, the humans are kicked off the planet in disgrace; but what would stop them from returning in greater power? While the profligately expensive graphics are visually impressive, next year there will undoubtedly be something better. This movie has no redeeming value, and should be avoided as an utter waste.

This was a visually stunning experience. Beneath the surface, a basic morality play. However, the depth of developement of the new planet and its indigenous population was remarkable. At 9' tall, blue and three fingers on each hand, Zoe Sandana was beautiful. I will definately see this again in 3D IMAX. The effects were fantastic.
I am afraid that the Blu Ray home version, when available, will pale in comparison.

i went in theatre thinking i wouldnt like it,but i was blown away by the story ,plot and visuals.ive seen it once in 3-d,but in imax3-d it was amazing.james cameron is just great at his job.i can't wait for the dvd !

Spectacular 3D graphics with some of the most arful scenes I've ever seen on screen. To bad that all of this is wrapped around a good story spun to the old Hollywood pro liberal anti military-industrial complex, anti western civ., pro whatever indiginous peoples nonsense. The animistic worship of "mother-earth" stuff was the final straw. Go see it but just for the beauty that the new 3D technology has produced not the inbedded left wingl message.

So in the words of Barney from "How I Met Your Mother" this movie is...... wait for it...... LEGENDARY!!!! Seriously, the effects, the love story, the politics, everything about this movie was amazing. The female actress pulled my heart strings her voice conveyed so much emotion that the graphics made her look even more real. This was the second (and not the last ) time that I have seen it and I saw new things that made the movie even better. Also, IMAX 3d def the way to go.

The story is predictable, but who cares. The movie is totally different than any thing that you have seen. The colors,fantastic images and "creatures" are amazing. The characters are beleivable and you end up rooting for the "good guys" as the movie takes you on a wild cinamatic ride. This is a must movie to see for the old and the young. I called my friends and family in India to let them about this movie and they had already seen it in IMAX 3-D.

I hadn't been to the movies since the LOTR trilogy. And I was pretty removed from all the hype, not being a regular moviegoer. However, a couple of friends told me I had to go see this movie, and so we did.
We were blown away!! The movie is a visual feast. While I can't imagine not seeing the Imax 3D version, because it's SO spectacular, I'm sure it would still be a terrific experience.
The story was simple, and nothing terribly innovative, but enjoyable, nevertheless. Compelling enough to keep your attention, and plays a supporting role to the entire experience.
Bottom line - don't miss seeing this movie on the big screen, and go to the IMAX 3D version if you possibly can.

I saw this movie first at a standard 2D theatre and enjoyed it thoroughly, but was disappointed I had not watched it in 3D. My wife suggested we see it again in 3D and we decided to go all the way and watch the 3D IMAX version. While I expected to enjoy it the second time, I was completely unprepared for the awesome experience that format would bring.
In short, we were completely blown away. The incredible graphics and cinematography gave the already good story even more depth and impact.
Avatar in IMAX 3D is a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it.

It's difficult to even describe Avatar as a movie. I was transported to an alien planet and was immersed in a world and culture that has only been equalled by literary imagination. I can never see the movie in any format other than IMAX 3D as I fear I would come to the realization that Avatar is just a movie created by mere humans.

I thought "Avatar" was a wonderful movie going experience. The 3D effects were amazing. The story held my interest. The Pandora natives become real people for whom you care about. It's a good story. I'll tell you - I wasn't overly excited to go, considering the cost for an IMAX flick with the whole family. That, and the fact that EVERY movie we've been to in the past year plus has been terribly disappointing. Well, not this one! I'm the guy that falls asleep at the movies - all the time. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and we went to the 10pm show! This movie is like none other. I'm not easily impressed, but this movie is outstanding and if you can, get out to see it. You won't be disappointed. The theater was filled - every seat. Now I know why. A+ to Avatar 3D. Kudos to the creators. Now my kids want to move to Pandora! (Me too!)

After waiting 3 weeks for the hype to die down - finally got tickets to check it out. The story, while predictable, is okay but nothing you haven't seen before. I really didn't care though because seeing it in IMAX 3D was breathtaking. I really enjoyed the characters and they didn't detract but the stars of the show are the trees and general atmosphere. You really MUST SEE this in IMAX 3D - it was like being there in person.

I left stunned as did others. As strictly a movie rating I would have given it a 3.5 to 4 star rating, but as an entertainment experience I give it 10 stars out of 5. At times I thought someone moving in front of me to exit was part of the movie, as it just completely immerses you. Weakness of plot is overcome by casting and acting, and special effects including 3D are ...I don't have a word. I will see it again

I was glued to my seat the entrie movie. I would never have believed it was 2 hours and 40 minutes long. The only way to see this movie is in IMAX 3D. It made you believe all you were seeing was real. So stunning! I was blown away.
