A must see movie. Awesome experience in iMAX 3D. But when you are opting to watch this movie or any movie in iMAX 3D, better be there before 20 minutes in advance to grab the seats in last row...else you will get head ache and you will say the movie was pain in the neck!.

The effects may be entertaining to some but so are car crashes. The Pocahontas story is predictable. The only surprise is that the producers wasted so much energy on what is not even goos science fiction.

The movie was good, but with all the hype I guess I was expecting more. Definitely way too long - could have easily cut about 45 minutes out of the whole movie. Glad I saw the 3D. If I had seen the regular version, probably would not have rated as high. Not sure if it's good enough to purchase when it's available on DVD.

I was blown away by the effects. the story is abit like cowboys and indians, but seeing the special effects was worth every penny. it is abit long ,but the action kept everything going. I recommend everyone to see it in 3-D.

Outstanding film format...for sure the stand for future movies. I disagreed with to plot to make American Marines look like the bad guys. Greed is universal and a product of human nature...not just American. Nature worship is a religion, not a fact. Did the animals ever say they were sorry for trying to eat the humans?

Initially was impressed with the photography and technology but the movie was too long and I eventually got bored with the computer generated scenes. Great story, imagination, creativity but a little too long. I found myself looking forward to the end.

There's no question that James Cameron never does anything "a little bit." This is another amazing offering from a genius of a writer/director. While the plotline does have a few questions (all due respect, at some point I'm pretty sure ol' Jake is going to miss light beer and levis) the fact is that Cameron has raised the bar on movie standards again. He takes the technology and techniques so far beyond where they were and we get the benefit. Awesome film.

My husband and I enjoyed this movie. As long as you're paying $15 per ticket for an IMAX 3D movie you might as well have over 2 1/2 hours to sit there and enjoy lots of action! NOT for children though. We have a 4 and 8 year old daughters and there is no way it would be appropriate for them...too much violence and too loud. I don't know why some parents think it's appropriate to bring kids to a movie like this....Best movie I've seen in years.

This is the way to experience a movie. You don't just "go" to something this eventful just to "watch" it, you pilgrimage to it to experience it. Of the three times I've seen Avatar(one 3D flat screen, one 2D flat screen), my last pilgrimage of 2 hours to the nearest Imax was the most rewarding of all. All of the senses are engaged including implied ones but especially the heart. This is film making mastery at it's finest. Thank you James Cameron for raising the bar. Please don't wait 10 years to produce another one!

I finally got a chance to see Avatar in IMAX and it was worth the wait.
The movie lived up to all of its hype and I want to see it again.
Make sure you get there at least 30-45 mins early especially if you are seeing in IMAX.
This movie will break every record ever and it derserves too.

A technically awesome blend of "Dances with Wolves" meets "Alien", Avatar used the animation wisely, not allowing special effects to overwhelm the story, as is so often the case in these FX movies. Very fine acting, with good execution of background and screenplay concepts, the story was a bit lame when it started wandering far into the fantasy side of sci-fantasy. Avatar is the only 3D or IMAX film I ever saw that did not give me a headache. Overall, one of the best movies released in 2009.

I am not a big movie goer mostly because I have a hard time just sitting and watching them. This movie is 2h 40min and I was entranced the entire time!! It really felt like I was in another world for a while and I would have loved to stay longer!! I would (and have)recommend this experience to anyone (that can handle the language and warfare). I think I just may go again myself!

I can't stop thinking about this movie! The effects were incredible, but it's the story that has stayed with me. Avatar in 3D at the Imax changes everything. The visual effects are stunning and the story is amazing. Although friends have seen Avatar in 2D and liked it, I strongly recommend the 3D version. Watching the movie in 3D is an experience one step closer to being in the movie. The sound effects are also fantastic. Avatar in 3D is now firmly in the top 5 films I've ever seen.

The film was an incredible blend of what makes us human, good and bad. I saw it twice and both times I was shocked how it had passed by so quickly.
The film demonstrates realism through research. The mech suits are not that far away...look it up! The lower gravity making for taller trees and creatures etc. VERY WELL MADE.
The real soul of this film is just that, the human spirit. So wonderfully the movie depicted the duality of human kind, our greed and our capacity for growth. Our fighting spirit against all odds, and our childlike delight in new and fantastic things.

This is one of those movies that must be seen in a theater. The Imax 3D experience is amazing. There is absolutely no way you'll have the same experience if you wait for the video release.

This is why I spend $30 of my hard-earned cash in a large, dark air-conditioned room for 2 1/2 hours- because movies like "AVATAR" are absolutely worth it!! What a fantastic head trip! I couldn't help but lose myself in this awesome fantasy world! Highly recommended!

My wife and I work in a cinema, but traveled a hour and half down to the I-MAX to see this film ... WOW! I had already seen this film in the cinema I work in, but this is the way to see this film in a I-MAX cinema. I was like seeing it for the first time, only much, much better.

Avatar is exquisite to see, filled with highly original, imaginative images.
