I cannot understand why Avatar did not win the Oscar for best movie in 2009. Maybe this one will in 2010. It is such a beutiful movie, it takes your breath away. I seen the 2009 version two times, once in reg. screen, and then in Imax. Proubly will see this one again too. I have the first one on dvd, and will be getting this one too.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE, YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to see "Avatar" last night, again, after seeing the film several times during its original release. The added scenes enhanced the film more than I'd imagined. I was fortunate to sit between two couples who had missed "Avatar" the first time around. One couple said they owned the DVD, but with a two-year-old at home, they hadn't gotten further in viewing it than the opening scene. When they heard a 'special edition' of the film was scheduled for release this weekend, they thought it would make a great 'date night.' I had to smile each time the wife slapped her husband's arm during the action scenes in concern. The other couple were graduated students in their mid-twenties. They hadn't seen the film during its first run because it didn't sound like something they would be interested in. When the end credits for "Avatar" rolled, the young woman looked at me with warm eyes and said "That was so much more than I thought it would be. Wow, I'm blown away." They young man said "That was unbelievably good." And that is the best review I could ever hope to write. There is no measurement for how this magnificent film affects people, or why we all feel so 'connected' and reluctant to leave Pandora behind when the end credits roll. I'm going to see it again this afternoon with a friend from work who never got a chance to see it during its first run. I'm sure there will be many more like her. Or perhaps many who didn't see it on the iMax screen and want to treat themselves. Thank you James Cameron. I see you.

The extra scenes were well worth going to see this movie a second time around. When a pregnant wife (mine) can sit through a three hour movie and come out with a smile from ear to ear, you know it was excellent. There are only a few movies that I would ever recommend to everyone to go see, and this is one of them. The IMAX 3D experience stimulates your senses like a piece of Godiva chocolate stimulates your palate. You will fill like you can touch everything in the movie, like you can feel the winds hitting your face, like you are falling or flaying through the air with them. and like you feel all the explosions and fires in the movie. with lack of better words, an amazing experience and movie.
Cons: the temp in the theater was a little hot, but I didn't realize it until the movie was over. That's how good this movie was!

Amazing doesn't even cover what I experienced. Choosing Avatar 3D as my first ever IMAX 3D experience was a good choice. The additional 6 minutes made the story line make more sense. This is a MUST SEE!!!

Entire family enjoyed this movie. Second time at IMAX for two of the four of us. Other two saw it on projected DVD. Enjoyed the extra scenes & footage. One scene at the end seemed to change the focus of the film but made a possible sequel more likely - can't wait. This version seemed more likely the Director's original intention. It was probably edited to shorten the time in the original version. I highly recommend this film.

I've seen this movie multiple times on BR and was blown away each time I saw it. So, when I heard a special edition was coming to theaters, I absolutely had to go...and was not disappointed in the least. I felt the added scenes added so much to the storyline and explained some of the important parts of the story you had to guess or assume what happened off screne. I can't say how much I love this movie and the special edition has made it even better! If you haven't seen it in theaters yet, do so quickly in IMAX...you won't be disappointed.

If I could have clicked 10 stars I would have! This extended version is as good as the original. I really liked the added scenes and animals. Tha added scenes gave even more depth to the movie and I cried like a baby when her dad died! I love this movie and hope someday we can get it at home 3D! Great movie!

I just saw the extended version in IMAX 3-D and was blown away again. This was the second time seeing it in the theater and multiple viewings on bluray on a 73 inch HDTV at home. I love the gorgeous visuals and the story is great. I do not agree with others who say the story in weak.

Avatar has it all. It's such a great all around movie. Saw it in the Museum style 3D stage and it was totally awesome. I love all the characters, even the bad ones because they make the movie really good. Visual effects and sound was very well done. The actors played their part well, and I'd go see the sequels to ALL future Avatar movies! Count me in.

I went into this viewing with high expectations because of all the reviews, and media hipe over this film, but I had no idea just how amazing this movie was going to be. This is truly a miracle of humanity. To think we didn't have sound in our moving pictures less than 100 years ago, and now we have Avatar... is just mind boggling. This movie should stay in theaters forever. The big screen experience, especially in IMAX 3D, was beyond amazing! I will never forget it!

Given the fact that I have seen this movie 20 times in IMAX 3-D and five times in 3-D, I guess you could say I love it. Sometimes the violence is overwhelming but the scenes with the Iklan make up for everything. No movie has ever had an effect on me like Avatar. Made it to the Friday night 11:20 show and hope it will play again from time to time before Avatar II comes out. I just can't get enough. I've even gone so far as to get a tattoo of a seed from the Sacred Tree. That should sum it up!

I saw this film Friday during a Midnight Re-release showing. It was in IMAX-3D. The special effects and computer animation was flawless. Creatures looked incredibly real, not animated. Unfortunately with the 3D effects everything was still slightly blurred around the edges even through the glasses, so the 3D is definitely not perfected, but they are getting close. The story line is very standard Hollywood, romance/stranger in a strange land. And the theme was very reminiscent of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. The acting was fairly well done and the chemistry between the main three characters was quite believable. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen, but maybe not for the price of nearly $20 a ticket.

My husband and I had already viewed Avatar in theater format BUT was so ready to catch it in IMAX and 3D. The story was still amazing even after seeing it for the first time. The IMAX and 3D brought to life sceens of the movie that I had not seen in the first viewing!!! Definitly a thumbs up!!

I have never cared too much for 3D, I always thought most movies were good enough in 2D, but Avatar in IMAX 3D was AWESOME. I felt in some of the jungle scenes that I was really there, and it wasn't the cheesy 3D I remembered from the likes of Jaws 3D. Hope it comes back around soon in theaters because I really want to take the rest of the family.
