Special effects were really good. Plot was a good one which adds to all the effects. While the IMAX experience was good, I'd consider the 3D effects to be more impressive than the IMAX effect. Still worth paying the extra $$ for IMAX and 3D.

I've seen this movie at the seat of second seventh from the screen. After 20 minutes, I and two of my colleagues got acute nausea and left the theater about 40 minutes position. The camera isn't stable, the sound effect is terrible, and the story is not interesting. This is the worst movie I've ever seen.

Movie met and exceeded expectations. The bar has been raised in the movie industry. My buddies and I noted the seamless settings between computer images and the real actors/props. Also, surprising, the movie will appeal to a broad audience (it's got science fiction, technology, love story, fantasy, political message).

I don't think I can offer anything better than what has already been said about this film, but still had to leave a review. I am going to see this one again so my husband can see it. I took my grandson and am so impressed that I am insisting my husband see this too. I will happily watch this one again to possibly see some of the detail I missed the first time. This one is for the history books!! Unbelieveable 3-D.. I was there in it with the characters. AWESOME!!

I first saw Avatar as a regular full screen movie and knew I had to see it at least once in Imax 3D. I thought it was spectacular even without the 3D but with it, it takes it to a whole other level. It was stunning and well worth the price of the ticket! I'm hoping this technology will soon be available for home viewing (I have my own home cinema) and that the 3D digitization technology will be applied to some of my older favorites. It is awsomely amazing!

This movie was absolutely an awesome 3D Experience with IMAX making it better than anyone who hasn't seen, could believe. 3D is the only way to go with this movie. If you do not see Avatar in 3D, you have wasted your money.

Saw it in IMAX3D. Amazing graphics. Great depth. Stunning and vivid colors. Looks like the movie producers have successfully created a great new world. Enjoyed every moment of it and it was so gripping we didn't even go out once in the 2:40 min movie.
For some reason thought the music was mediocre in certain places and out of touch.

Standard story line - linkage to struggle of the American Indian against the overpowered white man was well enhanced by outstanding computer graphics. Symbolic linkage of humanoid to all nature was excellent. Buying our tickets on-line and 45 min early arrival helped ensure we had perfect seats.

Had already seen this in non-3d but had to go back to see it in full IMAX experience. The story is just as gripping and the human tale even better with the full sound and IMAX immersion. Can't wait for this to be released on BluRay so we can add this to our collection and watch over and over again

Saw Avatar last night at 10pm show in White Plains City Center 15. Great movie, but I can't help thinking I wasted 8 dollars paying for this "IMAX Experience." The theatre didn't have enough glasses for the audience. They didn't realize this until after they started the show. After 3 minutes, they stopped the film and waited 20 minutes before finding glasses for last couple people. No explanation, no apologies, and they started the film from the same point. Many people complaining in the theater about this.
To add to the misery, my glasses were a mess. Despite all cleaning attempts, the picture was all cloudy and blurry. I couldn't help thinking that I would much rather be watching this movie on my LCD at home.

I saw Avatar in 2D and then again in IMAX 3D. It was amazing both times, but I highly recommend IMAX. It's worth a few extra bucks for such a total immersion into the beautiful environments and dizzying heights of Cameron's world, Pandora. Plus the indigenous Na'vi look amazing in 3D.
Some folks compare the framework of this movie to Dances with Wolves. But it's not a total rip. It's a loose framework that is fleshed out by added twists and turns and the love and attention of a director who truly cares. Can't wait for Avatar II!

This movie is a must see on the imax screen. The 3D effects were excellent. None of the old blue/red fuzziness. Characters actually seem to walk past you in your peripheral vision. The story was predicable, but entertaining. A little like Pocahontas meets Ferngully with really cool sci-fi gadgets. The most visually stunning movie I have ever seen. Highly recommended

I took my Fiancee and my 9 year old daughter to see this in IMAX and 3D, both were overwhelmed by the experience. It was a good movie with lot's of action and a love story. It lets your mind wander if it could be possible. Kind of reminded me of when Star Wars first came out. I highly recommend this movie in IMAX and 3D!!!

Being a picky person myself, I was amazed with the visual effects and a nice storyline. It was worth every penny and time (2:40 is quite a bit longer than usual but certainly right for this movie). IMAX 3D is perhaps the only way to enjoy this experience, first for my wife and I.

Very enjoyable movie. Effects, especially IMAX 3-D, were amazing. Although the story line was enjoyable, it was very cliche and somewhat predictable. It had many elements, "futurized", from "Dances with Wolves" and "Pocahontas". All that aside, and excellent movie for young and old! Don't sit too close at IMAX. You could get dizzy!

This was visually amazing. We saw avatar in imax 3d and although we thought it was pricey, the movie in the huge screen and in 3d was well worth the money. it took us to another level of visual movie experience. the characters seems very real and not computer animated. it was as if we were actually participating in the life of The People and the humans. This story has been told many times before. But the way it was told was magnificent. Imagine your beautiful dreams are mixed in the waking world and that is avatar. Good story, great great visual world.

Very visually stunning movie. Great computer generated graphics. Well directed and well acted. The IMAX experience really puts you in the midst of the film.
The only thing that wasn't very original is the overall story line. "Dances With Wolves" and "Last Samurai" are very similar stories.
But that being said, I would still recommend this film. It's just that good.

saw this twice, first with my husband then as a Christmas present took 9 others to see it... all in 3-D IMAX.. loved it both times. The graphics are amazing!!! story line great and 3-D IMAX took it over the top!!!
