Very visually stunning movie. Great computer generated graphics. Well directed and well acted. The IMAX experience really puts you in the midst of the film. The only thing that wasn't very original is the overall story line. "Dances With Wolves" and "Last Samurai" are very similar stories. But that being said, I would still recommend this film. It's just that good.
This "prequel" (you'll have to see it to understand the quotation marks - I won't spoil it), did not disappoint in any way. Our girls loved it too, and they're not Trekkies by any means. The action was great, the fx were excellent, and the actors matched up to the characters very well. I especially liked the actor playing McCoy. He obviously studied DeForest Kelly in TOS. Wish we could've seen it in IMAX.
This movie is not just for those whose marriages are in trouble. It truly speaks to every married couple. It shows the enemy is always trying to undermine us, and does it in ways every man can identify with. The message of Ephesians 5:25 ("Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her") comes through as loud and clear as the alarm bells in the firehouse.
