I don't care what the critics said, I found this movie to be wonderful. I never get teary eyed at movies, but this one did it to me. My husband and daughter saw it first in 3D. We all went back and saw it in IMAX. What an experience!

At first I was mad because we got there 20 min before the movie and we had to sit in the row almost right in front to the side. But when the movie started, WOW! I think every seat was a good seat, I was able to see everything like I was right there in the movie. It was so amazing. I got so sucked into the movie that I forgot I was in the movie theater! The story line was great, I fell in love with the characters and I did not feel like there was one single dull moment. The scenery and the colors were amazing and gorgeous! I am so tempted to go see it again! I highly recommend this movie to anyone!

While the plot was in your face anti-Bush warmongering (note "shock and awe" phrase), pro-green (the whole planet is interconnected - the trees, inhabitants, etc), pro-spiritual (earth mother), and the inhabitants (referred to as savages) were a melding of muslims, africans, creoles/haitians, native americans (can't figure out the tails - weren't used for anything, not balance, not to hold onto limbs, nothing), the effects were outstanding. I found myself reaching for things floating in the air!

Of course, the graphics and 3D effects were awesome. Seriously felt as if I were there. I have watched other 3D movies before and they weren't worth the headache, literally; but this one was worth it. And after awhile, the headache went away. I whine about long movies, but this one was so good, the time just slipped by.
The content of the movie itself was very good. Interesting take on religion, war, hatred, science, genocide. It made several ethical statements. It just kind of slipped them in there as people are engrossed in the graphics and technical part of things. I will own this movie.

Imax 3D Is the only way to go - this was my 2nd time to see it and I will see it again. This move will be the one future movies will be compared to for it's computer generated scenes and integrating with live scenes. If I had to give it one word it would be AWESOME!!

This had the same effect on me that Star Wars did when released in the 1970s. A superb movie in every respect - technical, story lines, moral compass, cinematography, computer graphics, you name it. This is a movie that even non-science fiction aficionados can love. I took my 10 year-old grandson and he is still talking about it -- let alone his 42 year old dad. One caution, it simply MUST be seen in 3D.

James Cameron has done a remarkable job of creating a believable fantasy. The story, the characters, the 3D were captivating from the beginning thru the end. I have told anyone who would listen to see this movie. I will see again and will buy it when released in blu ray.

This was the most impressive, best looking CGI movie I have ever seen. For me, it ranks up there with The Matrix in terms of its wow factor. The story itself was just all right. My eyes felt a bit strained by the end of the movie, but it was well worth it.

Movies like this come along once every 20 years or so. This was an amazing experience. I highly recommend the imax 3D. normally my eyes bother me with 3D, but not the imax experience. Excellent Movie. If you like sci fi, you will not be disappointed

Watching Avatar in 3-D IMax was most definitely an experience. By the end of the movie I was ready to allow Elam to transfer my being into my Avatar. Then it ended and I realized it was only a movie......... exceptional.

The IMAX 3D experience allows you to totally immerse yourself in the story. The specials effects are wonderful and with the 3D you really feel like you're there and apart of what's going on. When it was over and the lights came on I almost felt like I was waking from a dream. Pandora was so vibrant and the characters were so real! I was actually disappointed when I walked out into the gray, cold, theatre parking lot. I looked to my fiance and said, "Man our world sucks". :P

It was too long, 30 minutes could have been cut. The IMAX 3D was okay. Just didn't do it for me. Wearing those glasses for so long was no fun. I suppose if you like long movies and like animated movies it was good. I'd would only recommend seeing it in 3D. Not sure what the IMAX was all about. I know that my husband really enjoyed it. DON'T even compare it to the "Titantic" which was a GREAT movie.

The use of 3d was excellent. After 30 minutes, I practically forgot about it and was just "in" the scene. The special effects were seamless (in IMAX) - even when a scene logically had both real and computer-generated content, you could not tell any difference between them.
The story was pretty basic, but that just let you immerse yourself in the experience.
So - where can I get a ticket to Pandora? I want my avatar!

It diffeniently is the movie of the future. All special effects were realist. I saw it in 3D Imax. I think it would have been just as spectacular without the 3D effect. The eco system of their planet really makes you think about your own eco system. It was well worth the time and money. Everyone should she this incredible movie. We were a party of 4 ranging in age from 56 to 79. I'm not sure how children would view the reallism.

The storyline was very basic--no twists etc..
Not much back story about Earth, just a few lines of dialogue. You think they could have worked in a bit more in 2.5+ hrs.
Well worth watching for effects alone.

This was an incredible movie. It touched on so many issues, both current and historical. If you are someone who enjoys thinking about patterns and trends in history then you will greatly enjoy this movie. I believe this movie had strong ties with Imperialism and Manifest Destiny of Western Society. It also deals with modern warfare, the war on terror, environmentalism, and might is right vs. a more scientific perspective of observe and learn. The characters were a little ridiculous at times, especially the colonel, but it helped get the point across. Finally, the 3d and Special effects were amazing, nothing corny. I highly recommend this movie!

I saw this movie in IMAX 3D. It was an incrediblly entertaining experience. The special effects was amazing and the story line was awesome. The 2 + hr movie seemed like an hour. It's a must see!

I turn 65 next month, and I do not recall ever going to any theater movie more than once. Avatar is the exception. I saw it once in 2D, and today will make my forth time at an IMAX theater. I have never before seen any movie that is so captivating that I want to become a part of it.

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I didn't want to miss a minute of it and stayed glued to my seat the entire time. I would highly recommend seeing it in 3D the experience spoiled me to the point where a regular movie will not be the same.

Amazing -- worth the drive for the 3D Imax experience. You won't find anything original in the plot, but the visual effects are so gorgeous that it doesn't matter. At least the plot holds together and makes sense... and delivers a pretty powerful message.
