My wife, stepson and I all went to see the film in IMEX 3D. We had to travel 40 miles to a theater who had the imex 3d, but it WAS WORTH IT!! The 3d effect was good in most sections and excellent in lots of others.
The characters were well done and the period details was outstanding.
I would say go and see to anyone.

So much fun to see it in 3d Imax. Special effects let you fly threw snow flakes over a Dickens English city on Christmas night. Wonderful time. My only concern, some of the characters are quite scary. Worth every penny.

The 3-D effects were outstanding. A little dark, probably period approrpiate, and the glasses made it a little darker. Went to see with my 9-yr old granddaughter - she thought there were a few scary part - not slasher scary but "surprises". Use of the original text had vocabulary unfamiliar to the younger audience. The movie was well done and a good re-telling of this often-done story.

I took my 7 year old nephew and he closed his eyes during the Ghost of Marley...VERY VERY CREEPY...and the beginning scene with Marley in the casket was morbid at best. The special effects were awesome especially flying over the city....gorgeous tummy roller. I thought it could have been a bit lighter to make it a general viewing family movie and still retained the underlying lesson of the story.

The animation of this movie was fantastic. Very detailed and life like. Many awesome 3D animation moments. However, there are several scenes that are too scary for small children; involving images of death and very grotesque ghostly images. I would not bring children under the age of 8.

Excellent movie overall. The special effects were done extremely well and Jim Carrey played multiple parts well. The story went a little long on the part when he shrunk down in size and was chased by the black horses and carriage but other than that, it was well worth it. Due to some scary parts, I wouldn't recommend to take kids under 6 to see it on the IMAX sized screen-better to wait until its on DVD for them to watch on a smaller screen in the comfort of their own home and familiar (non-scary) surrounds. I loved the Polar Express movie also done by Robert Zemeckis, and this one ranks right up there as well.

Disney's A Christmas Carol: The IMAX Experience was fantastic. I have watched several 3D movies but this one was the best every. Jim Carrey and cast did an excellent job at capturing the spirit of the tale. The story dragged in places and we were flown over rooftops a couple too many times. It would have been fine to have seen it in a normal theater and without 3D, though there were some well-done effects in 3D.

I saw this movie last night with my parents and one of my brothers. I loved the fact that the whole movie was in 3d. The cgi technology in the film was so cool, that in some scenes it was hard to tell that it was computer generated. It is a great family film that everyone should get a chance to see, especially in 3d.

First of all, I would have given no stars if it was not for Jim Carey's acting. I expected soooo much more and got so much less. Not one of my favorite versions. Even the version "Scrooge" was a lot better!

I did not see the movie myself, but took a group (9) of high school girls to it. They seemed to like it, reported that some was kind of scary, but overall pretty good and exciting. Seemed to feel that the special effects and iMax 3D may have made it more scary than needed and a couple said they had to cover their eyes it was so scary, but still liked it, would recommend it.
