The 3-D effects were outstanding. A little dark, probably period approrpiate, and the glasses made it a little darker.
Went to see with my 9-yr old granddaughter - she thought there were a few scary part - not slasher scary but "surprises". Use of the original text had vocabulary unfamiliar to the younger audience.
The movie was well done and a good re-telling of this often-done story.
