A well acted emotional movie with good plot and direction. As always,Clooney is suave and debonair. Kendrick does not suck the life out of the movie. The twighlight alum gives a believeable performance. Overall a very good thought provoking movie. And while an Oscar is not "In the bag" it certainly is well worth watching.

Saw this last night. George Clooney never fails to continuously impress! The story line takes a turn that is unexpected, and though that part was dissapointing, this may be a part of reality none the less. The entire cast's acting is superb and I would definitely reccomend this film.

Fantastic, riveting stuff and a what a great directing/editing job! As someone who has unfortunately had to fire, (ooops can't say that!) let people go those scenes were depressingly real and well done. Made me think and should do for others too. and not what I was expecting. I am a HUGE George Clooney fan and he was awesome, as I expected. However, the plot was inherently depressing, especially at this (festive) time of year. Many people have lost their jobs recently and a movie about exit interview specialists leaves me about as cold as a Canadian winter night in Winnipeg. Sorry, but not my kind of film for the holiday season. I would recommend this movie for the acting but not for the plot especially during the holiday season.

If you are feeling a little low from the holidays facing it bravely with no job and gasping for much needed cheap recreation, do not add this movie to your list of escapes. The fact that it hits home is a testament to its wry and dry capture of corporate culture and the systematic and rather cold severing of employees from their livelihoods and lifelines. On top of that throw in the looking glass of family dysfunctionality and grim existences and you will not leave feeling comfort and joy. The twist of events is not expected but is the right conclusion to send yet another moral message among the many in this very well told story. Clooney, Farmiga and Kendrick all nail it.

I thought that this movie provided a sophisticated view of today's corporate climate. As some of the reviewers said, it's not always exciting; it's not always entertaining, but the film portrayed it as it is - with a slight twist. 'Up in the Air' stars out on the wrong foot with over-use of foul language, then gets better and better to the point that the middle half of the movie is very funny and just plain great. Toward the end it starts going downhill again until it's somewhat of a letdown. It’s not the fault of the acting, which was mostly very good. The good parts of the movie make it well worth seeing. I won't spoil anything by giving away any of the points the story was trying to make, because the points are the surprises.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
