I would rate this Batman movie as "average". Nothing great about it, which was a huge disappointment, for me. I had really been looking forward to it. I missed the costumed villians. Anne Hathaway was also disappointing and unconvincing as the Cat Woman. She was trying too hard and just didn't make it. Not even close to the brilliance of the Late Heath Ledger, as The Joker. Wait for this one and rent it.
If you're a die-hard Meryl Streep fan you won't be disappointed with her portrayal of Britain's longest ruling and, to date, the only female Prime Minister, Britain has ever known. The film is biographical in nature and tends to gloss over Thatcher's political achievements and her faux-pas, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It provides viewers with a snapshot of her personal life with her husband and her daughter as well as her relationships with some of her political colleagues. The performances of the entire cast are so smooth it's difficult to tell where the acting begins and ends. This movie is probably one of Streep's best and I predict another Best Actress in a Dramatic Role Academt Award for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher.
SATC2 is, as others have likely said, not as entertaining as SATC1. Perhaps I was expecting too much as I had been waiting and hoping for this sequel for awhile. I adored SATC1. Chris Noth is still wonderful as "BIG" and SJP was awesome in her role as Carie Badshaw. Kristin Davis was not expecially memorable in her role nor was Cynthia Nixon. Kim Catterall's character dominated the last half on the movie which I felt was overexposure. It became somewhat tedious witnessing her various sexual exploits while in the Middle East. SATC2 was entertaining but not up to par with the first movie. Somewhat disappointing...
There's lots of action coupled with some great lines delivered under the guise of a romantic comedy. Killers is humorous, but a somewhat predictable, flick. Killers is fast moving and entertaining in a mindless kind of way but that's not a meant as a bad thing. Sometimes it's good to be just entertained, without a moral or a message being delivered. Killers is a movie for such an occassion. I really enjoyed the escape from reality Killers provided. I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed the pure entertainment delivered by Heigl and Kutcher who, despite the somewhat transparent plot, were convincing in their respective roles. Enjoy...
Although I have not yet seen the movie, I did see the trailer for it in the theater. I can hardly wait to see the movie and I plan to go as soon as it opens this week. Lots of smart lines and action. Humorous and action-filled, just like the TV series of the same name. Looks like a good movie!
This is a thinking persons movie. Lots of twists and turns in the plot. Acting was absolutely brilliant from Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore. Amanda Seyfried was a little weak in the title role. The plot was fascinating and it was worth going to see this movie to experience, in and of itself. Very dramatic with lots of suspense. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. The directing (Atom Egoyan) was supurb! One of the best movies I've seen in several years. I've already pre-ordered the DVD!
I found this movie slow, for the most part. Jeff Bridges deserved the Oscar he received for his work in the starring role as "Bad Blake" which is the reason I wanted to see the film. I don't like country music but I did enjoy a couple of the songs. Maggie Gyllenhall did a wonderful job of portraying the love-interest and motivating force for eventual sobriety of the road-weary nearly has-been country music entertainer. It's worth seeing but wouldn't be my first choice at the cinema this week.
It was suspenceful, full of action and very realistic. I don't usually like war/military movies but I was on the edge of my seat throughout this one! I'm glad I saw The Hurt Locker. I now understand the reason Kathryn Bigalow received an Academy Award for her Direction of it. It's not as bloody as I feared that it might be although the danger for the members of the bomb disposal squad is both apparent and ever present. It was very well done.
with the plot of this movie. It is slow moving and seems to take forever to get to the point, whatever that may be. Pattinson's name/fame clearly packs in the females, both young and older. He didn't seem as genuine as he did in his role in Twilght. Emilie de Ravin was good in her role and I expect to see more of her on the big screen in the near future. She was the best thing about this movie. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because there are many better movies out there at the present time. Don't wastr your time/money. Wait for it on video or on television.
