I have seen it twice already and have read the series. I do feel you should see Twilight first before New Moon. It was very passionate, and exciting. It made me laugh and cry. The music is perfect, moving. I thought they followed the book pretty well for a movie. IF you loved the series, you will love the movie. If you didn't read the series you will think the movie is good, just not as great as the readers. I CANNOT wait for eclipse. I am re-reading it again before the release......

I think this movie is so much better than the first. Chris Weitz manages to fix some of the mistakes that Catherine Hardewicke made with Twilight and tell a meaningful tale at the same. While New Moon definitley does not reach it's full potential, i still loved it.

It was a very good adaptation of the book, missed a couple parts here and there, but what movie based on a book doesn't?

First opinion. Kristen Stewart got herself some acting lessons. Bravo. No more erratic Tourette's like blinking and stuttering to show high emotion. I really was digging on her. The Edward/Bella interaction was a little strained, but I think it was a Rob Patz issue and not a Kristen thing. Rob's struggle throughout the movie was a bit more intense in this one - and I really don't think he did as good of a job in New Moon as he did in Twilight. Probably stemming from the fact that he wasn't in this movie as much - and there really wasn't a way for him to build up the character....

I love this movie! I cant stop talking about it. The director did a MUCH better job than Twilight director. I hope this director does Eclipse also. I have to say, this movie was better than the book! I can't remember when I ever thought the movie was better than the book but this time I have to say it is true for me. I loved that the director and actors were able to make me feel such emotion at the same exact moments the book did. I cried in the same spots I did in the book. The story line was kept, which I loved. I loved that Bella was talking to Alice instead of monologue to no one. The actors really seemed much more believable in this film! Outstanding movie!

This movie was pretty much what I expected. Movies are just never as good as the books they are based on. However, they did a surprisingly good job maintaining the integrity of the book. New Moon was a HUGE improvement over Twilight. There were definitely some cheesy parts and the acting could be improved on (a little more emotion please!!). Overall though, I would recommend the movie....especially to those that haven't read the book.

I loved both Twilight and New Moon. The cast in unbeatable! The first one was more romantic and New Moon was more action. They are both amazing and I cannot wait for the third movie to come out. The love story is so captivating. Once you have read the books or seen one of the movies you will be hooked!

I was impressed by the effects and action of New Moon. You can definitely tell that more money was put into the film. Taylor Lautner was a pleasant surprise both in his acting and physicality. Kristen Stewart's acting was improved from Twilight but she has serious trouble expressing the raw feeling of a broken heart. She did not shed one tear. I expected more feeling and emotion from her, especially during the break up scene and when she loses herself in the woods. Rob. Pattinson is not seen often, but expresses himself well. I was disappointed with Alice. Her emotion seemed very fake. The other Cullens were lacking personality but the werewolves were entertaining.

I thought it was great. I love the love story between Bella and Edward. Didn't want it to end. I can't wait until the next movie comes out. I saw it with my daughter twice and i will see it again. The director did an amazing job with the characters.

I didn't get into the Twilight saga until after the first movie had came out. I did read all of the books before watching the first movie. The books are awesome and just suck you in. The movies do the same. This movie was even better than the first one. The audience reaction when Jacob takes off his shirt for the first time was priceless. I loved the movie and thought it was one of the best book to movie adaptations I have ever seen. I will definately buy this movie when it comes out on DVD. I am disappointed that we have to wait two more years until the third movie comes out.

I loved the Twilight move and all 4 books; however, New Moon was a let down. I struggle to see how they could make such a great story into such a mediocre movie. Jacob wasn't developed well, nor was his relationship with Bella. If you really liked it, I would argue that you weren't watching the movie, you were remembering when you read the book.
I'll definitely see the others as they come out and I've watched twilight many times over, but seeing New Moon again is not on my to-do list.
Bummer.

New Moon was visually stunning, and much less awkward than it's predecessor, Twilight. The actors seemed much more comfortable with their lines, and emotions. I also think the makeup was about a million times better. The vampires actually LOOKED like vampires! Not to mention the special effects. You could see each individual wolf hair rustling in the wind. To make this movie, that was so complex, in such a short amount of time is amazing to me. I saw it twice already, and am planning to see it a third time soon.

The books tell a great story, but the casting in this series is downright embarrassing. New Moon is better than the first movie, but that is not saying much. Twilight was like a bad TV episode on the WB network, and New Moon is not much better. Its the casting that really brings down these films. Kristin Stewart is an decent Bella, and Jacob and Charlie are represented well, but my god Robert Pattinson is the worst Edward imaginable. Edward is supposed to be strong character, but you've got Pattinson prancing around like a pansy. Throw in his cardboard character acting style, and you've got an Edward with no on screen passion or chemistry. Just awkward and bad.

I went to the midnight opening of New Moon and waited in line (having already purchased our tickets 2 months in advance) for 10 hrs. This movie was worth every second I spent waiting. It was beautiful and heartbreaking. I have since gone to see it a second time and it's even better seeing it again and I can't wait to see it a 3rd time! New Moon was my favorite book in the series so I went in with high expectations and this film exceeded them all. I cannot say enough good things. Chris Weitz is a genius. Kristen's performance was heart wrenching and frequently brought me to tears. Rob was able to portray so much of Edwards pain just through his eyes alone it was amazing. And Taylor completely embodied Jacob Black. I cannot WAIT till June!!

I LOVED THIS MOVIE! It stayed so much closer to the book than the first one!
The soundtrack played out beautifully and I loved every second of it. It made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me shiver.
Favorite scenese: Victoria running through forest while wolves chase her with "Hearing Damage" by Thom Yorke playing.
Alice's vision of Bella as a vampire.
AWESOME MOVIE! Recommended it to ALL my friends!

New Moon is a huge imprvmnt over the direction & acting in Twilight. Tho most will dismss this as Robert P craze, I thght his perfrmance ws the best w/ the poss excption of Aro. He captured the agony & tortured nuances well. Kristen S. did fine consdring she is in every scene but she missd ways to convey the agony of true love lost. Impressed with Taylor L.- didnt have very high expectations (byond the hype of his physique) bt ws pleasntly surprised. Sadly the rest of Cullens left me cold (ha- no pun intended.) Alice's performance was amatuerish and Jasper looked like a 70s throwback.
I was expcting a movie based on the action of the werewolf & Volturi sequences; but ws pleasantly surprised (but not blown away) w/ the feel of heartbreak.

considering the director only had a 1.5 to 2 hour time frame for New Moon, I think he did a pretty good job touching the major points of the book : introducing the Wolf Pack, focusing on Jacobs new abilities and AWESOME body, & leaving a cliff hanger for the 3rd movie. The movie stayed TRUE to the book and thats what matters!! This was a total chick flick unlike the first book however Eclipse is jam packed with action!!

was absolutely great if you are into the series and especially if you read the books. it followed the book closely with a few added things for comical relief and to add to the general effect of the movie. friends have even said it was a decent/good movie without being interested in the series at all. would definately recommend.
